Importing metal slide for TM G18C (AEG)?
Hello,
From what I have gathered on the forums, importing handgun slides isn't normally an issue. However, I was wondering with the metal slide for the TM G18C AEG, is it technically a prohibited import because it's a replica part for an automatic weapon? Has anyone legally imported this before? " Importing Firearm Parts and Ammunition You cannot import prohibited ammunition or firearm parts that are classified as prohibited devices, including handgun barrels that are 105 mm or less in length or parts made exclusively for a fully automatic firearm. You do not need a valid firearms licence under Canadian law to import non-prohibited firearm parts (except for a frame/receiver). However, as indicated below, you may need an export permit from the other country. " Pic: http://www.wgcshop.com/pcart/shopper...tm=SD-SL-S451B Sorry if this sounds confusing. |

No you are totally in the clear however there is a chance that the CBSA agent inspecting your package may flag it and send you a seizure letter. All you have to do then is deal with the paperwork and find someone who has a clue of what is restricted/prohibited for firearms.
The only problem you'll have is when trying to import "compact" slides. eg. Glock 19, 23 and variants of those.
