Radio Recommendation
I started looking for a radio and I saw that there are some UHF and some FRS/GMRS radios (not sure if they are the same though). Is there a thread that explains the difference? If I get a cheap radio like the Motorola Talkabout, will I be able to communicate with the rest of my team? (not in an official team, I mean the Green or Tan team in a game)
I'm a bit confused about what to buy. |

Tons of threads on the subject here, including a lengthy post stickied at the top of the page. Have a look at those and if they don't answer your question, come back to this.

The Motorola talkabouts should work fine if you are using the FRS/GMRS frequencies at your local games. I would recommend buing a cheap one (or pair) and get used to using them before considering buying anything more advanced.
The more advanced UHF radios, from the Linton and Puxing Chineese brands all of the way up to Motorola brand, require knowledge (or software) for programming frequencies--in addition to knowing the frequencies to program. You need licenses to legally use them on certain frequencies. |
