Greenline Ranger Plates w/ Magpull (not Star) PMAG? Where to buy PMAG?
Is it possible to use the cheaper boxset Greenline ranger plates that are like 8 for $15 instead of the actual Magpul branded ranger plates that are like $10 each for use on the actual Magpul made PMAG midcap?
I prefer the actual PMAGs versus the STAR made Greenline ones but for ranger plates, I'm not so picky. I own one 120rd PMAG which cost me about $25 USD shipped. I'm guessing that's about the best price one can get them for? Any other leads?

I have the same issue. Here are more detail in case someone can help...
Here is my question: maybe you have purchase the products and tried it yet...The SKU are from Ehobby Asia With the MAGPUL 120rd PTS PMAG for M4 / M16 AEG (Black) (SKU MAGPUL-030-BK) What mag pull product would you recommend with those Magazine? Either i) MAGPUL PTS M4/M16 Ranger Floorplate for Green Label PMAG (MAGPUL-045-BK) OR ii) MAGPUL PTS Ranger Plate for M4/M16 Magazine (Black) (SKU MAGPUL-008-BK) OR ii) MAGPUL Magazine Ranger Floorplate for M4 PMAG (Black) (SKU MAGPUL-029-BK ) I guess the real question is: Can the Green Label PMAG work with the PMAG or do you really need the ranger mag pull for those ? Let me know Thanks Dan |

As in my review, there are differences in both STAR/Greenline and genuine Magpul.
The STAR/Greenline PMAGs do not have a locking button on the bottom of the PMAG, so the STAR/Greenline PMAG ranger plates do not have the locking feature. As for the genuine PMAG (120rd), it has the locking button feature, and the genuine PMAG ranger plates do have the hole to lock the ranger plates in place. Example. Here is the genuine Magpul ranger plate for the Magpul PMAG 120rd. Notice the trades. Here is the Greenline/STAR ranger plate for the Greenline/STAR PMAGs. An example of the genuine PMAG button. This was done after a test with a GMC Jimmy so you'll notice the cracks. My review on the PMAG and ranger plates. http://www.airsoftcanada.com/showthread.php?t=77407 Last edited by Shirley; July 15th, 2009 at 08:28.. |

Greenline ranger plates are junk. THey are made from hard plastic unlike the 'genuine' ranger plates. If you are going to buy them put them onto the greenline mags as they are designed to mate with each other. The plate will 'click' against one of the ribs on the greenline mag somewhat locking it in place.

I haven't touched or used Greenline/STAR ranger plates. The genuine ranger plates that I have are rubber with polymer surroundings.
