It's just a gen 1 NVG, but the quality is very good, weather and shock resist, auto brightlight adjustment, very high resolution for a gen 1 NVG, think it's good enough for airsoft night game.

Ya, I know the PLA doesn't use Rhino mount, however this is the best I can do to match this picture

Yes that's the one I was talking about.

An export version called the KBU-97A is also produced and marketed for security forces of other foreign countries. This derivative utilizes 5.56 × 45 mm NATO ammunition although, instead of STANAG magazines, a modified version of QBU-88 magazine is used to feed the rounds.

Edit: Yeah, I contacted a representative and he told me it will be out eventually. The date however, is as of yet unknown. I'm in no hurry as right now I have insufficient funds to buy that even if it came out tomorrow. If I were to play more airsoft over the summer, I may have to end up renting guns....

Seeing that RS is concentrating on its AR series, I doubt any new Type 97 models will be released till the fall earliest imo.

Personally, I'd just buy a Type 97 or atleast something and go with it for now. Renting guns builds up and you can probably get a cheap gun for the amount you put into rentals. Sure it might not be exactly what you want, or what many consider good or meets the norm, however I say don't listen to others, unless someone else is buying you a gun, then in that case what ever they say should matter about the gun.

By the time you get some game expierence under your belt, the gun will be released and I'm sure you'll have tons to dump your funds on.

Don't be a cosplayer, or a chairsofter, be an airsofter

Most of the time its just a flat rate fee for the day. I'd say it can go from $20-$40 on top of the $20+ for game fees
