When did I claim that? I am not the oldest here, just among that age group. I am not the most experienced here, I can name several folks who know FAR more than I do like Lynch, Poncho, Agit, and more.
What I do know a lot about are real guns, but that means nothing for airsoft.

Yes, I am doing a bit of resurrection. It's what happens when you cant say anything for 3 months.

To answer part of the original question: I intended to start playing again after many years of not being able to for reasons of time/money. Then other shit happened. So now I must simply return to collecting airsoft guns I like until Real Life changes again.

Why did I post so much? Because I seem to be able to spot problems when they show up. Reading the FAQ seems to be a purgatory test, being told to read it is a crime that results in being banned. I'll let the rest of you guys hit your heads against the brick walls. There's more than enough of those showing up every day.

Wow, I don't post that often on ASC; however I really wish I had seen this thread earlier. Some of the openning posts in this thread really rubbed me the wrong way.

For those who are blaming the current attitudes, and types of players in the sport as a reason that they are quiting I call BS. There are those that have had little to no contact with the airsoft community long before its transition. I realize the sport has changed, but I know there are supposed "veteran" airsoft players who disappeared long before that.

Also since there are those who are "veteran" airsoft players, who have been around since this site started, who complain about the direction of the community maybe if you had taken a larger hand in organizing games and providing direction for newer players maybe it would be more acceptable to you now. A portion of those new players some of you apparently can't stand are in fact helping run the show now, which is alot more useful than posting on a forum!

I may be ranting, and this post definitely isn't directed at all of those old time players who are disappearing; but for those old cantankerous veterans who only post on ASC and think they are so important to the community, maybe you can stop complaining and actually have a hand in the sport again instead of just criticizing it.

Savage Haggis I commend you on calling out these individuals.

Yup, I know what you mean... haven't been going to games as much lately, mainly due to other priorities in life (wedding, moving, work, etc.)

Personally, I'm finding it harder to spend the little time I have on weekends for airsoft. But by no way am I going to quit, I just can't get out as much as I used to.

Planning a scenario game, hopefully I can host it in Sepember... lol

As for Meta's game, that never took flight, he's gone AWOL lately as well.

Dear savage Haggis

in regards to your posting about older players leaving the sport I would like to share with you some of our views.

1)Some of the older players have not left the game but merely concentrate their time in other commitments such as careers and family obligations

2) some choose to play with like minded players who might find some ASC games have too many rules and restrictions, there are quite alot of players that i play with now that don't like to play with the new rules so several years ago they chose not to participate in any ASC games and end up buying a piece of their own property so they can play their own games. some of these players are leftovers from the Hotshot, AMC era where there are little or no rules but a bunch of guys scrimmaging.

3)alot of us now have little energy or other physical disabilities that prevent us from playing the game such as bad knee, back pains etc.

I for one have never attended any of the new ASC outdoor games in fact the last outdoor games i participated in was Poncho's OPCT series, and the last indoor games i went to was hosted by the snow dragons two winters ago.
but as far as quitting for good IS NOT HAPPENING!

I think i'm going to be buried with my aeg and my newly acquired Jac (Yes Poncho I actually located 2 in T.O and in excellent working conditions)

It's called changing priorities of Real Life. What is hard to understand?

Speaking for myself; my life, the woman I love, my job and my close friends take priority over a game. It does not mean I dont keep informed, or forgot what I learned, but it does mean that what little free time I happen to have goes to other things that make me happy.

Airsoft is a wonderful game, it is a great attraction for gun collectors, but for me that's it for now. There's a few other reasons, but those are personal and honestly nobody's business. I guess it's the same deal for quite a few others.
