Mr. Biorage requested a few more pictures of the smr mk4 rail, hopefully these suffice. The iPhone is pretty sharp, but it's not a perfect shot. Certainly not like some of Steelth's mk4 shots!

I need a gas tube!

that is very nice, I too was debating on getting a rail, either the Keymod rail, Troy/Viking Tactical 12 inch rails or a DD omega rail. Now you have turned me to this rail, think it will fit a KJ works M4?

I'm not actually sure what kind of threading a KJW uses. I imagine it will though

Finished the build. And now I need something more practical.

Questions for all y'all:

I'm building a Colt Commando '933' to fit a mid-late 90's (bleed to early 00's) aesthetic for CQB.
I have a KA 933 that I've fitted to a metal lower. Few compression upgrades (4" accuracy to 100' max).
It's flat-top/ rail type upper, 'chunky' foregrip, CAR15 stock. I've found an oldschool clamp mount for my flashlight, a replica black AK type sling, and have the 'ins' on a flashlight which is about as close to a mini mag as one can get.

I'd like to get opinions on a few things:
- I'm fine with the railed upper, but should I really be looking for an A2 upper? I plan to use irons anyway.
- The 733 'slim' handguards are awesome, and would allow me to pass as 'Nam decently if I removed a few bits, but do I really need them for this period (late 90's - 00's)?
- This build is a fun one for me. I'm happy with 'plausible' for the era, but I'm willing to go 101% if I can do it at reasonable cost. Where can I find a 100% KA compatible A2 upper, 733 foregrips, and/ or a really old Aimpoint if I want to keep my current upper?

Building a Commando is fun because of the ad-hoc nature of every variant. They were literally thrown together out of leftover parts to fit mission-specific roles, with simplicity as the ultimate goal. That gives me a lot of breathing room in terms of a 'plausible' build, but I'd like to be more... discerningly plausible if possible.

Thanks guys.

Edit:
I have the scraps to build an XM1014 Masterkey as an optional tack-on. This would add a suppressor to the build to keep the length of the shotgun from overshooting the 933's 10.5" barrel by hilarious extents. Does anyone have good tips for a rail adapter fabrication mating a 'standard' M4 foregrip to rails? Any good links to masterkey fabrication generally?

Finally got that damned handguard cap. Nice and sturdy now! Just needs to get arma coated and it's ready to go.

Haven't put it through a chrono yet but she's probably around 40rps and the claimed 350-370fps mark from the manufacturer seems about right. Range is amazing considering the short barrel. Semi doesn't always want to engage properly but with this setup the only time I need it is before putting her down anyway. Played 2 short games and my opponents reactions were worth the effort!
Played a few games with her now, added a mosfet. Everything smooth so far. Probably hard wire the mosfet soon but threw it in "plug and play" for now.

Caved and ordered a tan 9.5" smr mk5 for the lonely 10" reciever I have laying around. I have some keymod accessories left over from the KAC URX4, so I needed something to put them on
