No orange tip, these will be direct from WE rather than their US distribution (used for smaller shipments)

Not only did I heat it up with a torch, I also bought a specialized M14 castle nut removal tool from the U.S. to try to get that stupid castle nut to budge. No joy.

Why do you think it's weird Brian? WE Tech is a Taiwanese company, isn't it?

Weird that in order to be imported in Japan the gun has to shoot Under 350 FPS But in order to be imported into Canada it has to shoot OVER 430 FPS We are very Fortunate that WE is willing to modify their guns to meet Canadian requirements.

I'm curious if it would be possible to have WE include whatever parts to return it to 350fps in canadian distributions, I mean I love RATechs NPAS and all but I think it'd just be a bit simpler that way. Unless that negates the importation law.
I dunno, just a thought! |

Yeah, Japan has some of the strictest gun laws I've ever seen, so it makes some sense that they don't want their Airsofts to do more than a certain fps. The Japanese public has no real use for real firearms and they are impossible to get legally unless you're in law enforcement or the military. So, in order to satisfy certain citizens' "gun lust", I'm pretty sure Japan let's it slide as long as it can't do any real damage. (there might be more to it, but that's what I was told when I lived there)
Conversely, some Canadians, particularly those in the bush, actually have real use for real firearms. So, the Canadian government probably sees it as, "why should anyone need a replica, when they can get the real thing if they need it". Granted, Airsoft guns are technically not replica firearms, but in order to escape that classification and justify the public's "need" for airsoft, they probably said that as long as it can cause harm then it has a purpose. I totally agree with you though that we are SOOOOOO darn lucky that WE Tech sees us as a viable market and customize their products for us. BTW, sorry if I told you stuff you already knew. I just know that others read these threads and might be wondering why. |

When WE figures out how to make em shoot at 430 fps, and then manufactures a bunch for the Canadian market

Any chance you could post the links to these reviews? My google-fu is weak. I hate searching for anything WE, as it turns up tons of unrelated results.
