This is all completely rumor. Trust me on this one, it will be no different from any other of the 100's of models we import every year. Also, Canadian firearms and Customs are two different departments, and honestly, they both make up and believe their own rules that differ from each other. So regardless what Canadian Firearms says, Customs will grab anything coming through as they don't "believe" CF and interpret the laws their own way. And ANYONE wanting to argue with me on this point, is completely wasting their time! I speak from real life experiance, not from what I hear!

You can pretty much expect all the retailers to bring this in.

Hey, Randy. Let me know when you have them. It would make an interesting diversion from the usual AEG fare.

I saw a pre-order price of $540 Can. on Ranger's and Double Edge. Apparently comes with battery, charger, gun and 2 mags. Fairly pricey for an AEP, but it may well be worth it. Nobody really does an AEP like Marui, and from the pics on their site, it looks less like an AEP and more like an AEG, internal-wise. Maybe I'll get one and see what it really does. Like I said, it's an interesting diversion from the usual AEG fare.

$540 isn't bad considering all normal aeg's don't come with a battery or a charger.
The thing about the MP7 is the motor is mounted at the top front facing back, the gears are aligned horizontal at the top, the piston setup is at the bottom. Its like at V6 gearbox that got twisted around and fliped upside down. |

The one thing is that Marui is the best company to do a gun like this. They have the resources to bring a unique model to market and make it work. Even though I don't always jump on the "always buy a TM 'cause they work" bandwagon, they do sometimes come out with winners (G36 and AUG come to mind).

The only issue i can see with this gun is its not going to be a skirmishers gun. the battery just wont last long enough. that is untill they bring out the "flashlight battery of doom" or how ever they package it.

I'm sure you can fix that gun up with a mini battery, and a SLIGHT spring upgrade to get 300fps (you dont need much of an upgrade for this), and you're set with a decent indoor primary. Only problem is accuracy and range wont be fantastic due to short barrel length; but for a gun that size, not that big of a deal as its one of those guns you want to use up close, and perfect for places without a mercy rule (such as TTAC here in Toronto).
For a quick comparison, price wise its fairly steep compared to an AEGs of similar size (such as MP5K, or G3 SAS) even including an exta mag and battery it can come to a bit cheaper.... which can also give you more firepower and battery life, making them great primaries. BUT were here to talk about the MP7, so none of those look as cool as that, it will make an awesome backup compared to a pistol (if you can manage the slightly bigger size) and a bit more compact than the guns mentioned above. Its the price of something that just about came out anyway (well, not quite out yet). I just really wish i could try it out before buying one.... |
