farmboy, will the HSGI D/L Holster with flap fit a hicapa? im not concerned with draw speed, but of property loss. its very easy to drop a hicapa mag.

Lol that holster is so ghetto erik, too bad you're .45 doesn't work!
And why is this holster a ghetto? It works good with the pistol it was made for. I don't see any problem with using it, especially if a person has WW2 kit. I will actually pick one up for my Vietnam kit when KJ will release new batch of 1911A1.
It was a joke man, calmeth thyself.

Not so much for a concern for a leftie like me, but still, overall reason why Kydex is needed for a Hi-Capa. Provided it is well-built, I'm willing to pop the money over (about $80 for one, all the extras like shipping and taxes excluded).

Yes I'm pretty sure the HSGI holster will fit it, however if I can hook up with someone in the area I can confirm that for you.

i find the mag release on the TM hicapa is extremely easy to hit, and I had a BHI holster that when pressed up against something, would squeeze the mag release and the mag would fall out. Thats why Im thinking of a full cover holster.

the Hicapa mag will be less prone to fall out if you put a strip of tape on the back of the mag. But this takes away the ability for the mag to free fall.

Id rather not have to rely on tape to solve the problem, Id like to stop it at the source. I ordered a low profile mag release so that should help.

I think that sounds like the purpose of the tape. Lol, mag release gets accidentally hit, mag free falls to the ground. I know how cool letting the mag fall out is when reloading, but the damage that occurs cuz the GBB mag is so heavy kinda keeps some people from doing it. Add in the cost per mag........

I had my G19 mag fall out one day, luckily I was able to back track for 20mins and found it in thick brush. My G19 was in my CF issue shoulder holster, somehow the mag release got hit and the mag fell out. I prevent this by using innertube on my grip, makes for a most excellent and secure grip on the gun, but it's long enough that I can pull the front end of the inner tube over the end of the mag which secures it in place until I want the mag out. If I need speed reloads, I just fold the rubber up out of the way. Foolproof method of keeping mags from coming out, and also gives a great feel to the gun. And doesn't look bad at all!
