Lee Enfield #1 MK3 Iron Airsoft Gas Gun
Hi all,
Has anyone caught this video from youtube on the Iron Airsoft Lee Enfield? IRON AIRSOFT Lee-Enfield No.1 Mk.3 - YouTube I've been waiting for 16 years for someone to make one that isn't 1400 bucks. I don't really care about FPS but it seems low so that could be an import problem. Happy Feasting ;-) |

I really want one too, but as was mentioned before, it is not possible to buy extra magazines at this time. Iron Airsoft said they were waiting to see how well it sells before making more magazines.
But, I am glad that it is 320$, looks like Iron Airsoft did stick to their around 300$ target for north america, even though if you buy it directly from Japan, it will cost you around 500$ USD. Anyway, as soon as extra magazines are available (and by that time a few reviews should be published) I'm getting one!

I asked Evike about an upgrades but their sales guy wasn't really feeling me ;-)
I tried to get past the 1898 rule with cbsa and call it an antique but the 303 centre fires killed that idea ;-( |

Evike confirms this batch is sub 300. I spoke to them today. They say hold on 400 + model is coming.
They just don't know when yet. Waiting :-( |

I got a response from them about magazines availability, they have absolutely no ETA for mags. So it might be a couple of weeks, but most probably a few months before they are available.

You guys realize that the Enfield was not a "magazine" "fed" weapon, right? The weapon was issued with one magazine and soldiers were given stripper clips of ammunition, the weapon was then loaded from the top in the standard form, much like the Mosin and Mausers, and many other rifles of the era, so if you're planning to do a proper impression, you'll have one magazine :P

Gato is very right. (and there's no dick in his sig ;-))
In a perfect world the magazine would be removable and act as a gas resevior(sp) You would feed from 5 or more practically but not correct 10 round strippers that could be inserted from the top with the mag in. For my G&G G980 I use a green gas mag and the two spare strippers from the co2 mags. it's not perfect and adds small parts to lose but works. it does require me to remove my mag every 9 rounds :-(. It would be nice if they could perfect this charger system seems possible. Cheers. |

The one thing to remember here is that this is airsoft. It would be cool to have these function as their real steel counterparts but then it would be impractical. I mean that by you're always going to be going up against automatic weapons from either side. Do you really want to add in more complexity to the reloading process or would that time be better spent slinging plastic down range?
I myself prefer a realistic 5-1 bb's-real steel ratio.

+1 to that.
When they make stripper clips for airsoft I'm all over it, until then I'll try for as many rounds as I can get. |
