Keep it on topic, people.

The ownership of airsoft if governed by the Criminal Code (and is basically legal), and has nothing to do with the separate act if importing airsoft.

this post has been kind of a knee-jerk reaction on my part
my friend called me, he was confused, I was confused
I got pissed off that this kind of thing could happen in Canada, so I wanted to get more info from people who might have more knowledge about stuff like this

yes, my friend used to be an employee of a retailer; but was not working for them at the time of the raid
but I know of another incident where the individual involved was just a friend of someone connected to an airsoft retailer

at the moment, I can't reach my friend; I have other friends who can't reach him too
until there is more concrete information, I will not speculate about what might or might not be the cause

I don't know if the previous "sky is falling" incidents unfolded the same way, but I am unnerved by the fact that this one is hitting close to home

If that guy was raided, and it was the police, the "friend" wouldn't have been able to call after to say what happened.. he'd be held by the police.. that includes the RCMP, and yea.. they can't force you to be quiet about what they do to you.. no judge could order you to. and the CBSA can't raid someone NOT importing things. its just that simple.
Americans also have REAL freedom of speech. Here in Canada we have speech codes that bar us from saying offensive things.

is your friend connected to specarms or XP?
because i bought 6 guns from specarms and 2 from XP within the last 6 months...
does anybody know if they would track down customers information from the hard drives they took during the raid? i've already lost a gun and some accessories during the raid because they were being repaired at specarms...

I got one of my guns from specarms and i had one in customs there when this whole thing went down. I cant help but say I am a little bit scared for my collection.

Just to be safe I stored it away untill we find out what the hell is going on.

I think I'll be taking my gun pics off my myspace profile just in case.

so you distinguish people on vampirefreaks as idiots, but people on myspace with pictures of theyr guns are ok?
thats pretty fucking rediculas. im sorry to hear about your friend shinjin, but im sure everything will be fine for him... but come on man... just because someone listens to a certain kind of music, has a certain kind of culture, and goes and does something dumb, doesnt mean theyr all a bunch of idiots. iv listened to death metal for years and iv never even thought of something as stupid as shooting up a school. and man, there are WAY more retards on myspace than there are on vampirefreaks.. considering myspace is like the AIDS of the internet.

JESUS! you people all need to think about this.
Dont belive anything you hear, and only half of what you see.
in all honesty, i dont believe that just some typical airsofter was raided, maybe something else was involved... maybe he hangs out with the wrong type of crowd if you know what i mean, shinjin, im not saying your friends a druggie, but what if he is, or if some of his friends are... the CBSA or RCMP would have NO reason to just raid someones house. maybe a neighbor saw him aiming his guns around through a window one night, there are WAY too many possibilities for this to just be some random crackdown on airsoft. and dont you think if it was, the government would give some type of warning, to try and get us to get rid of our guns, before they wasted hundreds of thousands of tax dollars just cracking down on a bunch of hobby crazed, milsim players.

some of you get waaaaaaaaay too on edge just from one person saying something on here..

anyone wanna buy a bridge in New York? only 55$ shipped.
:P

yep Sky falls! We're all done for! OZZY made me do it! DUde your buddy had to be up to something or involved with something that would bring these people down on him. I'm sorry but that's how the law works. My own cousin spent ten years in jail for something that he didn't do. Accualy he did do it an that's why he went to jail. The rest of you people who are worried about your collection... Be cool if they knock on your door then start to worry. Way I see it is and the way most people here are grown up enough and responsible enough to know how to act. Lets just wait till we hear some good hard facts.

Oh and watch out for that sky

If you are not a BIG collector, then I don't think you need to fear.
