149, got an 8gb micro.
youll never fill a 16gb on a single battery.

the software seems good. allows me to edit from my iphone 4 also. since I record airsoft on both. freakin awesome

the gps was to much money for the minimum options.

Kinda hoping someone has made a battery extender?

How did you transfer videos to your iPhone?

Extra batteries can be found on ebay for about 15$, hongkong "copies"

That's why I'll settle for a 32gb, 2batts, 4-6h of runtime

Extra batt removes the need for an extension or whatever, at that price

I wish this was on sale when I bought mine . Oh well. I've come to love the contour. I haven't had a shot in the lense for airsoft yet, but just in case I bought the lens kit

No battery extenders made yet (at least none that I've seen). They have a USB battery charger. Worse case scenario have a USB charger slot in your car and charge it. I have yet to fill a 16GB card on one battery, but I have 2 batteries.

Software is kinda shitty though, I haven't had a great time with it in the dark. In the sun it is pretty good. On good sunny days you can see your bb trajectory.

For that guy that was worrying about the impact, I think a bb will shatter the front lens pane, but that is replaceable. I bought the lens replacement kit just in case. It seems sturdy though, it survived a paintball impact (280ish FPS) just yesterday.

any chance the lense kit allows you to double them?

As for my iphone. I meant videos taken on the iphone work in the contours software.

And I dont think a 32gb card will work.

However a usb battery pack may work as a charger while it's running...
you can buy them for all sort of things. Basicly a large battery pack you can charge usb devices from.

I'd just buy a waterproof case if your worried about a lense or body shot. It will provide additional protection and you get to make it water proof.

Just make a lense protector from a pair of safety goggles and a flip up lens cover from aimpoint.
A dremmel and sharp knife can be your friend

Separated Lens Protector

Assembled Lens Protector

On Camera

On Helmet Mount

nice mount. explain how you did that and what parts you used please?

also I got the idea of an nvg counter weight. but a battery pack

On ebay you can buy usb 5000 maH battery chargers for the iphone.

but essentially any usb device plugged into it would draw charge power from it as the iphone would.

21 bucks. Going to give it a try and mount it to the back of the helmet.

MAYBE we can fill a 16gb card!

It's just the goggle mount zip-tied to the arm. I also used some foam tape to remove the wobble between the mount and the round disc that the camera slots into. It's sturdy...I bumped my head many times at OP Rhino and didn't come off. Lol

16GB is NOT hard to fill at all, especially if recording in 1080p or 720p@60fps, which will take about 1GB for 7-9 min of video.

Thus, a 16GB card is full in 2h.
Considering most games last about 6h of gameplay, with the occasional uninteresting downtime (for video's sake), a 32GB at 4h would be perfect IMHO.

Your only concern then is battery life, which is easy to solve. A single 1050mAh is said to last for 2-3 hours, according to the manufacturer, so a second battery or a usb battery pack like you said would do the trick

Edit: come to think of it, an external batt pack would require having the latch open at all time during its use, which I rather not do, as dust, sand, rain would screw up things nicely. A second battery from ebay woud be the best choice. 15$ for a chinese made one

bingo. you can compromise the internals by running it with the back cover open.

suggestion, run two batteries and 2 memory cards. when you switch one or the other, switch both at the same time.

currently only using an 8gb card. will be picking up a 16gb class 10 this week as well as the waterproof case and an adjustable mount to attach to a canoe.

Coach, a Class 4 or 6 should be way enough, and much less expensive.

It shouldn't need more than 3MB/s in write speed, so theoretically a class 4 should do the trick. I'll probably go with a Class 6 myself just to be on the safe side.

$32.99 for a 16gb class 10. Class 4-6 are in the $29.99 ballpark so no biggie.

makes for better speed with future higher speed gadgets. I don't see Micro SD's disappearing anytime soon. Besides, with the adapter, I do see better write speeds in my DSLR.

Go go Future Shop technical people:

"It's only a 2Gb micro SD chip. That won't get you more than 2 minutes of recording."

"Ok, how about if I turn it down to 720 at 30 FPS"

Fakes calculating

"Perhaps 10 minutes."

"Ok, and if I buy a 16Gb chip"

"Oh, between 5 to 6 hours!"

... must be compression.
