So, ive opened up the mechbox, and im just wondering. I got some light weight silicone shock oil, like you guys recommended, for RC car shocks (10wt) and im guessing im going to have to run back out and get some gear oil, right? I can't use the same stuff?

is there still some grease on the gears? does the cylinder still have some silicon in it? If so dont worry bout re-greasing just yet. I'm not sure bout the 10wt. I use a light weight silcon oil that is safe on plastics.

now would be a good time to buy say a guarder cylinder enhancement kit or a Prometheus kit and stick it in there.

Well I found something very interesting. It seems like the anti-reversal latch was not in its proper position. I found it sitting under the Bevel gear. I don't believe this was misplaced while opening the gearbox, as I used a flat head screwdriver to hold the main spring down while opening the mechbox, and slowly released the spring afterwards. Could this be my problem?
EDIT: Didn't think my last post worked, but it did, re-post edited out. And to answer question, yes the gears do have a white lubrification on them, not sure as to the type, but they are relatively greased. I'd probably regrease, just in case.

Yeah, sounds good. Any suggestions on the type of grease I should get? Also, I found an interesting shim-job done here. Thre were 2 shims under the Bevel and Sector gears, and only one under the spur gear. Not sure if thats relevant or not. The gears were well greased, but I did find some metal shavings underneath the Bevel gear, up against the side wall, near the motor mount... Anything that should be raising flags?

get some gear grease from airsoftparts.ca or maybe another player from your area. As you dont need that much for just one mechbox. Also, shimming is the most important thing when working on the mechbox. Its really hard to explain, so if you want i can show you how in a video I can make. (im off work with a back injury and have alot of time) They dont really show you how to shim in the mechbox.com vid. As for the shavings, thats never good, something is out of line and grinding.

Sweet. Well, chances are, ill head over to my local hobby shop and grab some gear grease. Its worth having for the future, so I might as well. I think the grinding noise I had deascribed earlier might have caused this.... so maybe it would help to have a litle vid to help me with the shimming. Do you think that misalligned anti-reversal latch could have been the reason it wasent working?
EDIT: By the way, thanks a bunch for the help! Really useful to have someone showing you through things. Also, when you make the vid, would you mind just quick showing where I should grease? I know that greasing the area where the spring guide and spring are is good, but im curious as to where else I could grease to help the mechbox. Thanks!!

probably yes, it should be secure and preventing the bevel gears and others from spinning after firing. The mechbox.com is pretty clear about assembly of this. I'll pm you in a bit with a quick how to shim.

Yeah, I think I might look into buying a new O-Ring for my piston head aswell... It seems kinda worn down and flat... this probably wasent the problem, but A new O-Ring might help the airseal.
EDIT: Also, can I use that Silicone oil 10wt to put a few drops inside the cylinder? Or should I just use the gear grease?
