The front handguard is hollow, it can take up to a 12v stick battery with its design with no mods.

i've been looking at getting an AK for a nice back up gun. and for the price on of those 74NU's wouldn't be a bad idea at all.

2x G&P Bakelite mags arrived in the mail today.

Luckily enough, they're the right colour/shape/all that, and despite being lighter then a butterfly's arse they seem like they'll do the job.

Haven't test fired yet, unfortunately, but I was disappointed on putting the mag in the weapon- I had to force it a little bit more to drive it home, and instead of the usual 'click' I got a sad-sounding 'pop'.

Will try and put some rounds through it shortly.

Finally got around to testing the Bakelites.
They feed great, but I still have to wear them in- it's a bit of a pain in the arse to change mags to them, as it doesn't have the solid 'click' when it's put in.

Finally gamed this beast. There's nothing like having a weapon you can use with one hand and fit into a backpack that has the range of a weapon twice or three times as big. Put a small RDS on it, it blows the shitty irons away.

I love what you've done with it, it looks amazing and its good to hear it is a solid performer on the field.

You've got me convinced... I definetly want one.

Cheers man, it's actually getting the following upgrades as we speak, courtesy of the amazing gun-doc wKnight-

Modify Bearing Spring Guide - V3
Systema Silent Head Set V3 gearbox
Modify Air Seal Nozzle - AK47 Series
Guarder Improved Hop-up Set - Black

I really can't recommend this gun enough, it's only been about 2 months and it's been to hell and back with me.

Wow great pricing on that 'RPK'. I wish I had a shipping address in Vermont so I could drive over the border, pick it up and come back with it (following that other thread about declaring under 400fps, orange-tipped airsoft rifles).

I gotta say, I hate the C-mag on it, I prefer AKs with a single drum.

Which reminds me, just ordered an autowinding drum mag, something like this-

More for shits then anything else.

i want one of those rpk 74u's so bad. i was just gonna buy a c-mag for my kraken im working on but then i thought well that just wouldnt be the same
it says it has a full metal body. thats pretty cool, i wonder if the hand guards are real wood though
the c-mag is sound activated which makes me wonder how well it works and how much sound it takes to activate it, like if youre out running around and every loud noise or bump of the gun sets off the winding mech. it says it can use most m4/m16 mags and im like huuuh???

Drum mag came in.

I gotta admit I like this way better then that fuck-ugly C-mag, those don't look good on AKs at all. Armalites + Cmags, I happen to have a penchant for.
