Did you guys notice that the RAS unit does not use a locking nut or delta ring. I assume it's something similar to the MRP.

that's the best technical terminology i've ever read... lol.

It's a Knight's Armament Co. URX front end, hence the name "SR25K URX". The URX is in the running for the SOPMOD Block 2 developing contract.

The original SR25K used the classic free floating front end.

More info on the RASII URX system:

And KAC's sweetest application for the URX platform - the SR-M110 Semi-Auto Sniper Rifle System (SASS): http://www.knightarmco.com/Catalog/Catalog_page6.htm

Not to mention that you'd need a good compensator on it because the muzzle climb would be horrific - rapid fire semi or full auto would cause the barrel to go 90 degrees in about 6 shots.

I know because my RS M14 was like that until I put the compensator on it.

Hmmmmm. I have a DTP metal SR25 body in the basement... *wheels turn*

Seen. A buddy of mine sent me a video of the German KSK at a range with a Kurtz version of a G3....sorta like the G3 SAS. The thing seemed insanely loud and had a huge muzzle flash (2' daimeter) and the guy shooting from the hip could barely keep the front end down, even with an RAS and foregrip. Wish I could find that video clip again. In the meantime:

Recoil cant be that bad, the woman in this video isn't too big so doesn't have that much mass/muscle to hold it down if there was a lot of recoil:

Recoil, no, its gas operated. I'm talking about muzzle climb...

In that video, is that 7.62x51? Seems like there is no climb at all...
