edit: second thought, the nub i picked up from my desk was completely dry, no sign of grease or any adhesive.
It's not supposed to be greases of glued at all. It is held in place between the arm and hop-up sleeve, no where to go when the unit is assembled.

UPDATE: the hop up still had the nub inside of it, and by removing the barrel/hop up unit and seeing if it was working, it was indeed. So I need to test to see if it was just not aligned correctly or something else was the issue.

UPDATE: test fired the rifle this morning, the hop up is working now, I guess it wasn't aligned correctly the first time. It's shooting quite well, however now I have a question:

How to increase its accuracy? the bbs are going a good distance but that doesnt mean diddly if i can't hit what i'm targeting. What did you all do to your GR25 to increase its accuracy?

I run a mostly stock GR25 as a primary... use 0.30 high quality BBs.

Well I was shooting .25... normally I would go at least .28 but its what I had left over from the last game.

I'm actually rather pleased with its performance, but I had a few inquiries about it actually... I'm planning to swap the grip to an M16 sniper grip and was thinking of getting a PRS AEG stock... but since the battery fits in the stock, can I even use the PRS stock? Where the does the battery fit on it, if it does? I don't want to spend the 80 some bucks on the stock and not be able to use it, but I prefer it over the current stock, i find it uncomfortable.

EDIT: Also, anyone swap the outer barrel? If so, to what? I don't really like the basic tube that came on mine lol

Use at least .28 and preferably .30 in a marksman rifle. You won't get anything good at extreme ranges with lighter BBs. If you are still running the stock barrel, an upgrade would be interesting. Don't go under 6.03 as it will just foul and get dirty too fast.

You can get the PRS with an opening on the top-side of the metal tube. You can then install LiPo sticks in the tube and place the stock over it (by removing/installing the screw at the back).

Any M4/M16 barrel fits. I have a DYTAC 20" "SPR" barrel because I like the look. It's a fluted mid section, with a smaller front end (past the gaz block) and integrated flash hider. Perfect with the QD silencer.

Exactly the information I was looking for! Awesome... so now I can just shop for a nice outer barrel As for the PRS stock, I have a large brick type battery that I didn't want to replace already since I just bought it and paid 50 bucks lmao... I was hoping it'd have a battery compartment but my research shows it does not... However, is the GR25 even lipo ready??? Might be a future upgrade, but wanted a nice stock instead of the current one... I don't like the collapsible M4 style stocks. Looks weird IMO. I like the PRS style stocks but lacking the battery compartment is kindof a killer, and I don't have tools for the battery mod. Plus that's a Lipo as well :/

The hop up issue is an indicator how your SR25 was assembled. If it was tested, the assembler could have fixed it before shipment.

You may want to take a part the gear box and do an inspection, like the AOE, shimming and grease.

My G36's gear box was bone dry. No grease. It could have been damaged if I had gamed it.

How do you remove the gas block on the barrel?.... I can't remove the pins and I can't find any videos on youtube for disassembly on the barrel or anything. Help please?...

The pins on the gas block is pressing in via a press. You need to use a punch and tap it out.

I was afraid of that -_- was trying to use a dull nail and the butt end of a screwdriver cuz that's all I had left after i helped my dad take his tools to work XD i'll see if I can take one home tonight with a hammer. I'm guessing it's the two pins on the bottom and that roller pin on top that needs to be removed?

You need the correct size punch. The screwdriver will slip and you could scratch up other parts.

I use a wooden block with a groove cut out so the barrel can lay into it. Makes it easier to knock out the pin.

... In reality, it's just so I can use my current bipod.. I didn't want to spend more money on the Harris bipod, since mine is almost identical just doesn't have the correct adapter to mount to the bipod plate.
