I use G43 mag pouches for my Tanaka and it does well. I have heard of people cutting out the dividers in the Kar 98 pouches and a small hole in the bottom to accomodate the feed lips but please PLEASE if you do that, use repro's!!

I ended up not being able to wait and ordered directly from G&G with EMS who had them in stock.

Came out cheaper than local and overseas if they ever get them in stock too... They were delayed month after month so I ended up contacting G&G again to ask...

The G-08-08 9R Standard Magazine for G980 is quoted USD50 *2=USD100

The shipping cost is USD23.75.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Total amount USD123.75

Took like 3 days to arrive in my hands with bonus stickers :P

So, overall, is the G&G version of the k98 recommended? I'm looking to buy up some 1940's era guns and this was on the list, wondering if I should push it up and make it sooner rather than later.

Contact G&G directly! They have VERY good support for OEM parts etc.

Just got mine today, seems to have a plethora of issues with it.

1) Magazines seem to be falling apart, the baseplate is sliding on the 'rail' and fucks up the alignment of the 'magazine' portion of the thing.

2) Spring in the bolt seems too weak, it can't punch out enough gas at all. Just 'puffs' of air that barely launch the BB. Is there any way to tighten said spring?

Got mine yesterday, so far it's awesome.

I'm working on modding an 8G Co2 to external air, so far so good. Just need to square away some leaks and I am golden.

That way I just need one mag, and a lot of the little clip bits
Fielding it this Sunday.
Pics up later.

@Strelok.
There is a little grub screw on the bottom of the mag, try tightening that to tighten the plate a bit.

No idea on the second problem though

Does anyone know if the mags would fit in a mosin nagant ammo pouch?

They fit, but you would need to make another hole in the flap to close it.

External Co2 Mod.
The idea behind this is far more stable and consistent shooting. Little to no fluctuating in pressure. Instead of 8G of Co2, I have 9 Oz/12 Oz/20 Oz/etc..
Once I obtain a regulator, I can adjust the PSI thus adjusting the FPS to accommodate the day. Big bonus in my books.

The 'downfall' is you are attached to a hose and lugging a big Co2 can, just like a Daytona gun, Shoie MG, Polarstar, Classic guns, etc..

It's pretty straightforward.
Drill an tap a male plug into the Co2 bulb. (Sorry for the blurry pics)

Drill out space in the bottom of the magazine so it may poke out.

Insert the Co2 bulb, screw on the Male quick attach.

Plug away and go.

All I need now is the one mag, and lots of the ammo clippy things. I do have a leak or two I need to square away, but she works

Have to say I love this gun, very powerful and fun to shoot. It feels robust like it will last awhile, we'll see though.

Oh wow... guess you can't be aggressive on the field though unless the valve area is attached very sturdily?

Yup, it's very sturdy. We'll see what happens once it's fielded, but so far I have no worries.
What I may end up doing if need be, just JB welding the male plug into the Co2 bulb.

(P.S: Huge thanks to you for the donation of used bulbs. Would not be possible without 'em! Hella appreciate it.)
