Hrmm... I would imagine getting the hopup to stay could be a mod of to do easy... for the mag lip, maybe there will be a replacement... or maybe a AEG Mag will fit with some modding.
Also, the mag feed top could just be filed a bit with a file. I dunno, I am really tempted to give this gun a try someday. |

The hop-up wasn't actually a big deal with me. I just pressed the washer on tighter ( on the back) and shes held up ever since. The gun itself is beautiful!
the mags however... I fear the front lip which is black polymer/plastic over time will simply weaken and break. I will not try and speed reload this thing. That and I don't want the $65.00 mags falling on concrete ground. *quick tip* I took some Caterpillar mouldboard dry graphite lube. And put it on the bolt/piston carrier. (only where friction occurs.) and inside where the bolt rides in and what a difference. The bolt carrier rides so smooth now and it will wear less inside and on the bolt carrier itself. I'll get pictures if people are interested. I know this definitely helps. I can't wait for for RAtech to release some internals for this( NPAS PLEASE!) oh, anyone know what the bore of the barrel is? |

Why would you plan to blue a gun that isn't blued in real life? AK-74s are phosphate dipped and then painted... bluing it would be totally unrealistic.

The main reason I'd want to try to blue is to give it a more natural-than-what-it-has-now look, but mainly to see the quality/composition of the steel body. If the steel used is cheap and lacks iron, the bluing won;t catch and it's one way to indicate toward specialty or cheap steel...and bluing a patch on the inside receiver is a lot better and cheaper than trying to stress test the frame, or cut a chunk off and have its chemical structure analyzed. Also, as stated above, we all know that NOBODY EVER has decided to veer away from a factory finish
 On a semi-related note to all this, the unseasonably warm weather here in Ottawa means that I'll be making and uploading a video of how this baby shoots. Total round count so far: 540 with 0 failures to feed or cycle, and functioning bolt stop on all magazines fired.

Agreed, it's mostly finish wear on the moving parts of the bolt, that thing is pretty damn tough, it's stood up to regular firing and abusive amounts of racking the bolt :P

Yup, I had a mag break on me last night. The feeding lip broke in half. Not happy. Crappy ABS plastic!! I was worried about that happening and I barely used it. Not sure if i will buy another one untill SRC fixes this problem.

Yeah, I really hope they fix this, and that other companies take note: the entire top "functioning" part of the mag (feed lips, valves, attachment points) should be metal on ALL GBB mags regardless of "accuracy". I'd rather have working mags that were a little off, than a $60 paper weight after 2 games. I mean, it's either shoved in a pouch or shoved in the gun, who the sh*t cares if it's off a little. I've been trying to brainstorm a way to preemptively reinforce this area, but nothing's coming up, and quite frankly, I shouldn't bloody have to.
