The battery rating is FOR THE SPRING IT CAME WITH. Switching it out for a lower power spring means you can use a lower power battery...

Why get the M170 gearbox when you switch out for an M120? Why not just get an M120 gearbox???

Yea I know exactly what it is.. I could probably assemble and disassemble it blindfolded. Now let me spout things you don't know about the product you've got.

The m170 box (should) come with "ultra torque" gears and a half-toothed piston. Because of the really torquey gears and the weaker spring that was installed, you may have something refereed to as "over-cycle" this is when the gears carry too much momentum and start the pistol-pull cycle after the point where it should stop.

Using a 12V battery would make your gun cycle so quickly that your sector gear would catch the middle of the piston and rip the teeth off before it has a chance to return to rest. I wouldn't even use a 9.6V, with the ultra torques and the weaker spring you may still get over cycle on a 9.6

Use an 8.4 large battery... or a 9.6 mini. Watch out for your trigger contacts, those systema boxes like to char, pit and burn.

where i got it from they didnt have the m120, and the m170 is a higher quality comes with bette parts, and its made to shoot good with a better spring, i just wanted the better parts in the m170box, with the better motor, i was just making sure for the battery

haha no that one was good, so to make the m120 work good in the m170 gearbox itll need a way smaller battery?

All the parts are the same, it's just the pull they're rated for.

You now have gears that are over-overpoweringly strong for you set-up... but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

It's only a bad thing if you over-do the battery.

Ignore it and go by your own judgement when you install it and try it out. This is one of the reasons I hate Systema's overpriced/overhyped junk parts. At least you got a full gear box and not a full tune up kit, that'd cause some headaches.

also do u think the m120 spring will work better in a systema turbo gearbox set than the magnum one? or do u think itll be better to be put in a G&P 8mm Reinforced Bearing Gearbox Set for M4 Series made for m120 or do u think using the m170 with smaller battery with work better?

the m170 has parts that allow it to pull that type of spring, gears and motar are designed for that specificly if you put an 120 spring you'r rate of fire will increase but those parts arn't suppose to pull weaker springs in a sense because of what above was mentioned

Using the M170 period will give you a gun that wont be able to be used on any field in Canada.

yeah i know thats why i wanted to get the 120 spring, so what do u think would be my best bet use 170 gearbox and put spring and get smaller battery, orrrr use the g&p gearbox made for the m120?

Just use the systema box, but use an 8.4 battery.

It'll make your trigger contacts last longer if you do anyway
