Actually, while civvy owners and armchair commandos are usually vehemently against it, real world Western-aligned AK users (not only contractors, but Polish soldiers for example) want access to the same optics and accessories (grips, AN/PEQ illuminators, EOtech and aimpiont sights, etc) as their NATO brothers.
