Screw fake blowback. If there's something that moves in my gun, it better have a functional purpose other than cosmetic. More moving parts = more potential parts that can break or cause problems. The moving 'bolt' has no purpose other than to look good (and that's debatable). If it added some recoil like with a gas gun, then I could see it having a functional purpose. In this case, it's crap.

If you want blowback action, go gas or go home. I'm quite happy with my AEGs the way they are...

Yea actually I do have that attitude towards everything in life. If it serves no purpose, adds nothing to performance or the experience, costs a hell of alot more and is one more thing to go wrong, I tend not to like it.

In some cases, simplicity is the best way to go, and this case seems to be one of them.

It's kool for a home gun, that you plink around with in the basement etc. but for something that you are gonna use and abuse in the field I wouldn't trust them, same goes for the GBB rifles IMO

i don't see the the bolt lasting very long, and it seems that it may put some strees on the mechbox. Just my 2 cents..

Just wondering, does this EBB use a special proprietary mag like the TM SOPMOD? I am sort of considering the TM but doing research into the CA first.

The only one of these EBB guns to use a proprietary mag is the TM, because it also has a "bolt stop" feature so the gun stops firing when the mag is empty (no dry firing). All others use standard mags.

I was under the impression that the CA EBB also has a bolt stop function...guess I was wrong.

No, you can lock the bolt back by pulling the charging handle and pressing the bolt lock. but it's purely just for holding the fake bolt out of the way for hopup adjustment. does not stop the gun when your out of ammo.

It has a lock function when you cock the charging handle to keep the hopup exposed. You hit the bolt release to release it. But it doesn't stop firing or lock back when you're empty.
