I'm going to go ahead and strongly disagree with you. Cheap camo will fade very quickly, especially with the wear and tear of playing airsoft, as well as the wash cycles. If you get good camo, it won't fade as fast, and it will be more effective. You won't have to "renew" your camo for a few years. You'll end up paying much less for a good set of BDU's than if you have to keep "renewing" a shitty knock off brand.

Sorry if we were kind of being hostile but we just assumed that you were some 18 year old with no patience and "wanted it now" kind of thing. Thing is though that you still need to do it in person so maybe if an AV rep went to your store one day you could probably do it while you're working.

PS: It helps if you invite them for beer/pizza (I know I'd be down in a heartbeat if I was an AV rep and got free beer/pizza).

I dont agree.
I see real camo everyday, and it uses and wears just as fast as regular clothing.
Alot of the time, brands like Propper/ Frontenac are high quality materials, but they get replaced in the army very fast, because they are being used the same way they'll be used in Airsoft. Mind you, I dont think most people are playing airsoft everyday and always in an extreme environment, but camo is camo, tissue is tissue and all color fades in the wash.

You can get the best or cheapest stuff and it will fade, the trick is ( I learnt this from my grandmother who was a seamstress for 20 year), when you wash, use cold water, very little detergent and about a quarter cup of vinegar in the water. It will prevent the colour from fading quickly. I use it with all my blacks and they dont turn grey, even after regular wear for months.

Actually... Thinking about it. What is vinegar? It's an acid right? You're using laundry detergent (which I believe is basic). So wouldn't you be negating what you're doing with the detergent/vinegar thing?

Wouldn't it be better to just wash without vinegar or detergent in that case? You would get some sort of salt forming from the vinegar/detergent thing. I'm not sure if it's a soluble salt or insoluble but you'd still be pretty much dumping a slightly basic salt on your clothes doing that.

That's just from a scientific point of view. I think I'm going to try this trick a few times and see if there's actually a difference.

That all depends on what country's camo you're talking about; I still have my US Army issue woodland NYCO BDUs and M65 jacket from 15 YEARS AGO and it's still in strong shape, after being used for camping, prospecting, gaming, working ,snowboarding, etc., whereas my Propper brand ACUs are falling apart after one season of paintball. Drop Zone Tactical has a good write-up on the difference between military-issue clothing and (new) stuff from surplus stores, websites, etc. Basically, if you're a civilian, and paying less than $80 - $100 + for each piece, you're likely getting a knock-off or low-bid stuff.

Well I could see how vinegar could help clothing from dulling from washing, but it wont prevent them from fading due to wear and tear and sun bleaching.

Alot of my clothing is dry clean only and the rest I just use cheer dark on. Cheer dark rocks hard.

Oooh I found something interesting about washing your clothing with detergents. Im not sure how legitimate it is. However I will leave this to all of you to make your individual decisions.

If you havent already, you should give a shoot to Amos to make sure the info was submitted, its possible he may have gotten tied up and has not submitted your info, although its probly not the case. If it was submitted then all you can do is sit back and wait, your status will be updated soon enough.

Yea probably a big noob question to ask. But instead of meeting an AV representative at a game could i meet them at some random place. Or is that really recommended and safe? I mean don't get me wrong im sure the Age Verification guys are good guys, but it just feels wierd meeting people on the internet. I don't know it could just be me and how i like to worry to much

just contact your area rep and he will tell you what is the easiest and fastest method of getting AV'd. Outside of games it usually takes place in a coffee shop where he/she can talk to you etc.
