Good stuff DaiViet! Nice review. Will you come over and photo document my stuff...?

Three things that I noticed.
1. Those spring clips that capture the body pin(s) will fly off a great distance and then spontaneously disappear...but you can get a pack of them at Lowe's for just a couple of bucks.

2. The selector gear pulls straight up...and on yours it seemed as though the post was "flared" a bit...preventing it from being removed. I'd be cautious about removing and replacing it too many times...I'm sure if it went, it'd be a bugger to get a replacement.

3. The Star red soft hopup rubber sucks. It's incredibly fragile/thin. With the hopup rubber mounted in the barrel and with how the barrel inserts into the rifle (nice!) the very edge of the hopup rubber can get pinched (which is what I think happened to yours)...tearing it. A "normal" hopup rubber would probably tear like that as well...but a "tighter" one seems to not creep out of the barrel like the stock one did. In the first pic of the barrel/hopup...see how the corner of the black rubber we swapped is "flush"...the stock red one was sticking out about 0.5mm.

take the gun apart, until you're left with the upper receiver. Look inside where the cocking handle is and you'll see a screw holding it in, unscrew it, then just move the handle to the opposite side and screw it back in.

I tried that but moving the handle down to the hole wide enough for the handle to pull through, but it still moves the whole thing as if it is still attached. I thought that it may be a little stiff, but didn't want to force it.

Yes, you're right. I forgot, it was a while since i had to do it on mine.

You have to remove the hinge plate at the end of the receiver, then it'll allow you to pull out the whole spring, then remove the handle.

Hello again!

I have finally got around to taking down my SCAR-L but now I can't figure out how to get the gearbox back into the body! Does the selector have to be at a specific place to get the gear to slip back into place?

yea, you gotta go in reverse of the steps i have up there, have the selector switch at the 5 o'clock position roughly. it takes a bit of fidgeting, but it shouldn't be a problem to get back into the body

Did that, but the selectors gear doesn't engage the gearbox gears and moves freely between 6 and 12 but not through the A1S part. Could it be possible that I reversed the gear pin when reassembling it? Also should it be set to safe or auto or something when reinserting?
