I didn't like it too much because it was too soft and flexy.

I had a Star G36K, Now I have a KWA G36 and 3 CA G36 (from C to full).
I also have a G&P G36 front end set with the bipod. And my friends have TM and JG G36Cs. I also had that K front end set and I was really deceived by it. (You can find my review about it) CA material is pure awesomeness. Star is second in line. The plastic is not fiber filled, but still very strudy and a bit lighter in color than TM or JG. It is a bit on the green side though. Then comes G&P. The material seems to be more than just ABS, but still plastic like. The color is a bit greenish too, like the Star. It is NOT sturdy at all. My GF hit the rifle and it felt on the ground (from about 1 1/2'), and both sides snaped (right over the little nub at the rear lower part of the handguard). Also, they made the grip to "split" on the underside when the battery is too tight. It is ugly as hell. And good luck finding a battery that will fit in there. I had to split a 9.6v mini in two 4 cells sticks, and have then a little apart to be able to fit the handguard. Defenitely a no-go. Then the china clone. Not bad, but not worth a dollar more than 50$. The hadguard by itself is alright. Some modling lines are apparent, but a little sanding takes care of it (or you can scrap them with an exacto). The rails that come with it are horrible. They are cast material, similar to the mechboxes. But the filling points are on the visible surface, and the paint is absolute junk. If you have some rails already, they will fit on there no problems. In my case, the flash hider was rusted so was the barrel. It was a little issue since I re-painted it and I had the Star parts to use. Last in the line are TM/JG "C" front ends. They are toy-like. Plastic and a bit soft. They scratch at nothing and don't look that good overall. At least they don't break like the G&P one. For barrels, if you have a G36 full barrel, you can go "C" size by removing the barrel extension and screwing the flash hider in place. If you want "K" lenght, you can get some for dirt cheap on the web. |
