M.E.U stands for what?
Sexy gun, but the grip is a bit to big. Love the colors and finishing on it though! Oh and 1911 or hi-cappa? Looks like a wide 1911 O.o |

It's a 1911. HiCapas, 2011s have three sections. |

Standard 1911, the grips are a big large
The sights are blank, but the front is serrated so no night siters :\ I just checked one of these out at the local store, its so awesome Very sturdy, and I don't think if needs a metal kit at all (well, minus the barrel) Balanced well to cause of the weights in the grips The mags are pretty sturdy, no wobble in the basepad, nice finish to them too The triggers and safeties are crisp What you'd expect basically

Do you mean the frame is one section, and the slide is another, and you put the two together to get the complete package? Or am I missing the mark?

the 1911's have the slide and lower frame, essentially 2 sections. A hi-capa/2011 is made up of the slide, lower frame, and grip, 3 sections. Iunno, i guess thats what he means.

Kk, I figured that's what it was... made sense anyway, just never had it described like that before...
Hicapa grips... Ok first the 1911, those are just screwed in plates more or less on the side of the frame, they're different for the 2011/hicapa? I always thought all those guns were if not compatible, then at least related... maybe some old gun knocked up a bunch of young hot mama guns and now his love children are everywhere - kind of thing... I need to sleep.

You're correct on how the lower frame of the 1911 just has grips that get screwed in from the sides. The 2011/hi-capa frames are seperate from the grip, the entire grip being made of plastic/polymer.
the guns are definetly related, some parts are interchangable suchs at the triggers, slides, and they retain that similar look. The main difference being that the 1911 is a single stack mag while the 2011 is a double stack mag. I'm sure there are people who know more on this topic, i'm just putting in what i know so far. hi-capa grip: capa lower frame capa slide where on a 1911 its simply this instead: |

1911 and MEU magazine can be inter change only the M.E.U. magazine has a built in magazine basepad. I believe the rear Novak rear sight can be fitted to the 1911 and the rest of the internal parts like outer barrel, spring guide, recoil spring and others are the same with the 1911. lol. Quote:
just a plain sight no painted dots. Quote:
now i have a good excuse.

RacingManiac uses the MEU magazines with his custom Marui 1911 and now I am considering doing the same. It would be absolutely excellent if the Novak rear sight could be fitted to the 1911 because I would prefer it to the standard combat sights.
