After watching the video, it's clear that they're trying to copy the Safariland. That ought to tell you something.

Serpa jams when dirty. If you're one of those people who refuses to get into the mud, then fine.

Not really, in fact, far from it.

I guess MM covered it already though.

I'm too pretty to get dirty. And they don't allow crawling in the mud at the range. So SERPA works for me. For everything else, the 6004 fits the bill.

Bladetech's design is simpler than SERPA, has less moving parts, and has the same amount of retention.

Even in sterile range environments the SERPA is questionable. There's a reason why a lot of shooting schools explicitly ban SERPA holsters from their classes.

I don't know about questionable. Alot of anti-SERPA hype is based on 2 cases of AD that everyone knows 100% was caused solely by the SERPA, and nothing else like finger control.

God knows there has never been any other ADs before the SERPA came along. Not like I'm arguing with you here, but I never buy into the "this is all bad" crap about anything, holsters is just one thing.

I've had a SERPAs for a couple years now, and some local guys have been using them longer than that. Besides, for airsoft, there are a thousand bozos who could do a thousand things to cause an AD, the last thing you need to worry about is the holster.

I think the AD was more human error than anything else. I've used SERPA before, and if you have poor finger index on your drawstroke, then you're likely to shoot yourself in the femoral. With practice though, SERPA functions fine.

I'm not saying SERPA is crap, I just don't buy into the 'SERPA is teh bestest' hype either. It's a nice holster, in most environments, but I prefer Bladetech.

Myself, I like the SERPA fine enough, I mean, I have one one my blast belt. It's light, easy to use and most importantly green.

If I had to carry my G22 and my life may have to depend on it and the quality of the holster, I would take the 6004 with me. But in airsoft, this won't be the issue. And, I'm too pretty to get dirty anyways.

Serpa is ok for range use. I don't base my distrust of Serpa thigh platform on the ND reports, rather the release mech jamming reports. If I'm transitioning to my pistol, it's because I need my pistol. I don't have time to fuck with a jammed gucci holster.

Safariland is the standard. If it aint broke, don't fix it. "Advanced systems" have more moving parts which can fail at the most unopportune times.

Can anyone comment on the quality and durability of Huang's 6004 clones?

Somebody posted a pretty decent review around here. If I remember correctly, they were fine except for the strap which are seriously deficient, not having been made from the same level of elastic webbing. Since the whole product is engineered, substitutions in one area will compromise the entire thing.
