I consider the external hammer mechanism easier to understand and troubleshoot, because you can see it and you can reset it without disassembling deeply into the lower frame.

Mostly wear on the hammer/firing mechanism.
One thing i've noticed about KSC Glocks (doesn't matter if it's a 19, 17, 18C, 23F, etc), but after several years of use, they just mysteriously stop cycling properly and I've never been able to figure out specifically what part it is that causes the problem. Replacing individual components never seemed to work and I never had the time to work through combinations of parts. I only know that replacing the majority of parts in the rear has always worked, although I know that's not optimal due to the increasing rarity of these components. The strangest part is the perceived lack of wear on any particular part.... I've seen this happen all their entire Glock line and I've had probably a dozen KSC Glocks pass through my hands with the same problem. It's gotten to the point where I can't even source the parts to do the repair anymore. So to specifically answer your question, it's when the pistol itself ages, as these guns always work fine before the failure. And besides that, I've found the KSC Glock hop up design to be pretty clumsy. I can only rate accuracy and performance as "average", whereas the Hi-Capas (and pretty much any Marui GBB manufactured since the MK23 NBB) would be rated at "excellent". |
