I'm no expert on the subject, but isn't the that little hook and anchor image suppose to actually be "pressed" into the material when it's made and not sewn on afterwards???

Its late an I feel like saying it. The insignia is embroidered on the real thing. The camo is fake for 2 reasons:
1. go find a picture of real USMC Marpat and you will see that the fabrick looks nothing like that. 2. On the issue camo there little insignias imbeded in the camo itself.

It's ripstop. I don't even have to go further. NO Marpat uniform is ripstop. Plus the shades are off.
The colors are supposed to be tan, light grey, coyote brown and marsh borwn as far as I remember. For real desert just have a look at my M16 pic. Oh and by tthe way, if you want good looking repro Marpat get Tru-Spec TRU line, they are absolutly awsome, in the same cut as the ACU uniform

Yeah it's fake.
Noticed that stupid ebay person had a different looking USMC Desert instead of this. And noticed it was shipped from China. You get what you paid for. 30$ a set. But a couple of washes through it, the shades will be brighter. |

The best stuff is propper. Its the closest you can get without it being real. However the quality of tru-spec is also very good, although it fades after a while.

Actually, not mine. My rifle went tits up that morning and that was a loaner from Ponch. If I bring 4 rifles to a game, I might get one that works....

Another point on this. Of course, a lot of it is personal preference, but if you're going for "real world" loadouts and looks, avoid tactical vests and go for chest rigs, armor carriers and other LBE systems.
Tactical vests are typically worn by law enforcement. Soldiers don't usually wear them because they're not made for sustained operations, rather they're geared (pun intended) for quick "in and out" operations. Also, get dirty. Clean gear is seldom seen in the real world, except on swat teams. |

If you're going for real world as you say you got 2 options and that's it.
1- IBA in Coyote Brown 2-MTV (Spartan 2) in Coyote brown I saw a couple of pics of Marines with Eagle Rhodesian vest over their IBA though. And if you're on a budget, get an FLC, cheap, light and gets the job done. As for SOF freaks out there, the RAV, CIRAS, FSBE will do the job fine

The Spartan 2 is a beautiful piece of kit. Amazing gear for issue kit. If I could find one, I'd buy it.
