And the M203 in your picture can't be mounted on either an RIS or RAS. To mount it you actually have to remove the entire handguard to mount that particular version.

Hey good find, that link to Quarterbore... scroll down and there's a PDF near the bottom, and in the PDF there's illustrations of how you mount RAS.

Nice pic, too. Didn't think they were still using that handguard.

PS. damn your fast typing skills, Kutter, beating me to the answer by 1 minute. You, me, schoolyard, 4pm. You're going doooowwwwwn! :P

what about for a shorter barrel? I have the 10 1/2 inch full CAS-VE system on my C8, will a short launcher work on a stub'd front

The length of the launcher's tube doesnt affect the mount; on 11.25 and 10.5" barrels (rifle's) the front bracket will come up over the flash hider. So you'd need to modify the front bracket a bit (IDF do this on real steel). If you're using a beefy FH like a KX3, forget about it.

Otherwise you could try a RIS launcher or EGLM-style launcher like Madbull's.

I also ended up getting the 12" barrel this time, previously had the shorty/9"; wasn't sure how much I'd like that, but now that I have it I'm glad I got it. I'm using a CASV handguard with a 14.5" barrel and PRI style gas block/folding front sight tower, and I find the whole front just looks big, square and aggressive. But again, as others have said, it comes down to personal preference.
Wow, the great things you learn from asking questions..... Thanks for the heads up on this info. Ive been pondering the short and long for some time. I see the 203 long on pics and its looks almost too big on the m4 sized rifle. Course a picture and seeing it and holding it yourself are different. I have a M15A4 SPC, it has the M4 sized barrel, but a full stock. When I see the M4 with a long attached, it looks sooooo front heavy and too big up front and skinny in the back. Which I find kind of ugly.

I was also border line going to import shells tonight, but I thought I should ask first, this a good idea? anyone done this? I have an order with ehobby and was going to add some shells. But I thought id find out if this was going to be a seizure item first.

Whats a good shell to go with for a shower. and how big of a difference is a 120 shot over a 18. Seems like 120 is just a waste of ammo and perhaps velocity unless your getting a wider shot cone. I was thinking of getting something around 18rnd - 68rnd max. Any preferances amung the 203 users?
