The TK GBB rifles (there's an AKS74U as well) are old news. They are simply GBB pistol guts modified to fit an AEG body. Recoil and noise won't touch an Escort powered gun and I think a lot of people will be getting sticker shock on the cost of the gun AND the mags.

+1

I've never seen a C8 with a LE Stock, but hey, what do I know.

I'd love to see a GBB rifle mass produced, but one of good quality. It think I'd take that anyday over an AEG. But like Gryphon said, if it's just pistol pushed into a rifle body, than no thanks.

http://www.google.com/translate?lang...am4/index.html
If anyone wanted to see a translated ver. of the page (by google)

it was all in broken english as typical of a web-translating program, but some key terms popped up:
-CO2 (as mentioned earlier by madmax)
-export version
-"Also building in the mechanical 3 point bursting system which inside the lower receiver is cultivated with VP70 is examined.
As for the bursting system because it seems that can be cancelled simply it can enjoy full automatic."
-june, july 2008
-"In addition as for price being high from 50,000 Yen level, there are no times when it exceeds 70,000 Yen. Inquiring about this, I just a little felt at rest. Because 10/22 was over ten ten thousand Yen, you thought as two-digit ten thousand Yen"

edit- to add to the price; 70 000 currently translates to about $600 CAD, but i prefer to compare yen prices to other japanese gun prices and then get a ballpark figure of what the price would be like when it gets in canada. from a 2006 catalogue, the price of a marushin m1 garand cost 62 000yen. if i recall correctly, a garand retails for about 900 in canada. of course these prices are only relevent if the source is correct (and the translation is correct). and as Gryphon said gun + mags would push the price up

Perhaps, but it was no Tanio Koba, was it. One of the things TK ones have that most others don't, is gas in mag.

WRONG! The 1st generation of Thermold type magazines were originally designed as a preloaded, cost effective, multiple use variant to the metal box type magazine, however after initial field trials, were found to have problems.

WRONG! At the time of first issue, the new C7 variants, under contract, were only issued with the Thermold magazine, and thusly, was all that was available to them, as the bugs were attempted to be ironed out on the 1st gen magazines. It was quickly discovered that using the original metal box magazine would be the more cost effective method, rather than spending extra monies on R&D of the Thermold magazines.

WRONG! After improper instruction, poor maintenance, & a general dislike of the new weapon & it's components, it was discovered that "old school" thinking (slapping the mag to seat the rounds), & general abuse & misuse of the 1st generation of Thermold magazines, that they became a liability & costly to replace on a constant basis. (Read As: Soldiers don't like plastic - They like to be rough with their gear) hence the return to metal box magazines for the C7 series.

The 2nd & 3rd generation of Thermold magazines are far superior than those that came before & are used, almost exclusively, by those nations that use(d) Diemaco weapons systems.

The new generation of Thermold magazines have been designed to with stand excessive temperatures, plus & minus, general battle field abuse, & lack of regular maintenance.

For history buffs, the Thermold magazines were never pulled from service inventories as they can still be found in most CF armories. The metal box magazines were quietly added in the mid eighties & have been the main stay ever since.

Ok, so apparently the real steel thermolds suck. What about the AEG ones?

They're as good as any other mag. I have a couple for my armalite myself.

bwahaha they're using panteras as the background on their site :P
anyway doesn't the c8 have a different outer barrel? also it's not just an aeg with pistol internals, they slimmed it down to have the same dimensions as a real m4 just like systema.

Yeah, the barrel doesn't have that ribbing for the 203, we use the wicked sweet crazy weird complicated Diemaco mounting system.
