However, once out of the barrel, BB weight really matters. Really light BBs like 0.12g cannot retain their energy for very long, so they more decelerate rapidly compared to heavier BBs. In addition, their light weight makes their flight path really unsteady. Not to mention that light BBs are too sensitive to hopup setting, making them often easily overhopped even at the lowest setting. So in the end, your fps at the muzzle goes up, but you're trading away almost all your effective range for that unimportant gain. To illustrate, a gun shooting 0.25g BBs with a muzzle velocity of 330fps will have an effective range in excess of 100'. The same gun shooting 0.12g BBs will produce a muzzle velocity around 370fps but have an effective range of maybe 30'.

Wow thanks guys for all the great replys!
One last question (hopefully); where should I go now since I've pretty much bought the top airsoft gun at S.I.R. in Winnipeg? The salesperson told me to go check out Xtreme Tactics, which I did but you can't actually buy guns there. You can only buy add ons/mods (I think) and play in the Arena. Should I go online? I went to 007 Airsoft and that site is pretty neat but expensive. |

I dunno how Kirenex, Aftermath, Gamo, and A&K all fit together, but I've heard Gamo owns Kirenex, and my Kirenex M4 S-System came with A&K still branded shit, like the crappy targets that come in with an AEG still had A&K markings on them... The AK, well it's a frightening concept, but they might have to actually produce their own shit... but as for their M4 platform, I'm thinking that Kirenex just buys and rebrands shit...

Who wants to play in the snow, anyway? It's cold, and makes my rod feel small.

No problems in snow nor rain.
Cold shouldnt be a problem with AEGs. |

A AEG battery will suffer badly. The v2 mechbox will/might crack. Happened a lot before, ask the vets. Gas on GBB and Gas Guns will have less power also. |

V2s will crack even if you're playing in 25 degrees weather. They just suck.

If you're worried about your mechbox cracking then just don't use a gun with a ver 2 mechbox. Or it gives you another reason to get a new gun with a better mechbox design. |

Hey I have another question for you guys! Since the Kraken Ak-47 is apparently the same as the TM version, can you buy parts for the TM version and put them in the Kraken?

Its a Cyma AK clone with TM compatible hopup, so pretty much all the TM parts should fit.
