I actually started settling my mind on it staying the way it is, ran a few more mags though it enjoying the dull, quiet thump it gave while hitting the target, then decided to see the every second shot fires a BB after it cycles on an empty chamber................. only to find this thing musta been made by Honda! I kept running it hard by shooting it, the gun cleared the problem out itself!?!?! It's almost 90% what it was before, burps a couple times then start cycling every shot, even after dropping the hammer. I've noticed dropping the hammer and pulling the trigger double action brings the trigger full back once in awhile with nothing, release it and pull again it shoots.
I'm baffled really. Guess I'll just have to keep wasting BBs until it gets back to full service like before. BTW, I throughly washed the lower frame with hot water and dish soap to clear out the excess oil I put in. Will go more conservative after it dries and get back to you. |

hmm, are you saying that its still as quiet as you said when it was acting up, but now its shooting 90% again? accurate? distant? If the answer is yes I am in awe buddy.. lmao, that kicks ass..

Am saying that it's louder now and cocks itself under it's own power. Still not 100% yet, about 90%, but some shots DO still come off as Phuts instead of the usual muffled crack, which is still better than the unsuppressed CRACK!

almost 100% sure that it is a messed up part 66
I have an mk23 that I own right now that is behaving like that which I am too lazy to fix ie; takes 2 trigger pulls to fire, first one "cocks" it, second "fires" get a reinforced one made of SS and it should fix it |

Thanks for the info, I'll check it out. What causes it to break anyways? For the most part, my gun shoots all the time, it's just once in a while that it does that in double action mode.

Pretty much!

part 66 takes the force of a dropping hammer and it is made of brass or some other weaker metal
it gives out pretty quick, especially with an uprated mainspring I believe guarder makes the cheapest replacement; they have a set which includes a stronger part 66 along with upgraded recoil and main springs GBB mk23's are damn fun, damn expensive and somewhat finicky and part 66 is the first thing that goes on almost all mk23's |

Uprated main spring meaning the recoil spring? Because I rebuilt mine to be stiffer with a shorter slide action. I doubt that's the problem with mine since it rarely does that, but I'll order a replacement on the next group order at UNC.

mainspring = hammer spring
but yeah...that part gives out eventually on the mk23's Ive owned; 4 in all, half of which were parts guns and resulted in the funky shooting that you have decribed |

Now, does this problem occur every time in both single action firing and double action? Does it only happen with the mag in the gun or does it cause problems with even dry firing?
Point being, I cna't get it to happen all the time at all, just a random thing that happens every once in a while, but pulling the trigger doesn't cock the gun, the hammer goes back to a certain point just before releas but not any farther, so I release the trigger and pull again and it fires. I'd say out of a mag shooting double action I get that maybe once if that. I checked out UNC (is where the next group order is) and all I can find is either that stock KSC made part #66 for $15 or the aftermarket recoil/hammer spring with a #66 as well, but is out of stock. And what about that Airsoft Surgeon 380 upgrade kit, any word on that? I think I'll get that and the KSC part #66 to tide me over. What I did when I rebuilt the recoil spring assembly was remove the split pin holding the steel donut, then rearranged the springs and washers so the smaller stronger spring is full forward with the main spring in the rear. Cycles halfway now, is as fast and as hard as my upgraded G19, and works great. |

Stalker, is it possible your custom job to the springs is whats causing it?
