How should an "Operator" look?

What exactly is an "operator"? I can't seem to find a definition that fits..

just wear some 5.11 tac pants, a tan shirt and a black vest or tan vest. Since they're all pretty much in Iraq, go with Tan.

operator is a "politically correct" word for rent an army mercenaries hired gun

an operator is an independent guy who works for a military just because they are paid to they do shit their way

military says "we need this guy taken alive"
operator "sure"
the operator probably didn't do it the way the military wanted(like quiet) but got the job done

bounty hunter is a law enforcement operator

Well you're talking about that thread but you guys should take a look at the one posted on Arnie's that was linked by someone.

To a lot of people the contractor look is being too poor to afford decent gear and a correct BDU. I'm just glad the trend haven't caught the players in Quebec yet.
