Thats an American price from an American site, you have a high chance of loosing it when it crosses the border. Stick to Canadian retailers, theres a drop down menu at the top of the page.

Bang for the bucks, get a Classic Army from ASC Armoury. They deal directly with CA, so price range are VERY close to TM's counter-part. Internals are just as good.
There isn't such a thing called cheap and good. If you're looking to drop only like $2-300 on an AEG, it's not going to work. |

I actually live in the U.S. For some reason guns seem cheaper here? Since I'm able to buy from U.S. retailers, what do you guys think I should get?

If you are going all CQB, an MP5 is fine. If you are playing in the bush however, you might want soemthing with a longer inner barrel to give you more accuracy as your are shooting between branches and trees etc. M4 or AK (from any major manufacturer) are good starting points. I don't own an MP5. I have a short barrel I can strap on my M4. That way I have one mag type to worry about, one set of bling to worry about (scopes, lights etc etc) and one set of batteries to worry about. It's hard to make that first purchase, I know. Trust us when we say just pick one and go with it. You WILL be buying another.. And I just have to note the lack of flames here is really refreshing. Must be the turkey making everyone lethargic.

yes guns do seem cheaper...becuase they are. you dont have as many problems with customs so gun suppliers have fewer problems getting in shipments which means less cost becuase its less risk. as well as all the taxes and customs costs etc..

Dude you're in the US. The airsoft world is your oyster. Look anywhere you want. TM, CA, ICS they are all there and they are so much cheaper than we can get em here. Do yourself a favour and stick to the name brands we've listed though.
One other thing... Always use high quality BB's. Friend of mine went with cheap black ones and he hasn't been able to get his 733 fixed yet. Gaurder make good BB's.

Yes, I suppose I will need to buy another gun sometime. It's just I can't afford to buy one now, and another one in a few months. I've been looking at some other guns, and these guns:
Tokyo Marui - MP5 PDW Tokyo Marui - MP5 K Tokyo Marui - M16A2 Seem to have good reviews. Would there be much of a difference between the MP5's? Or are most guns made by the same company pretty similar. And I guess the difference between the M16 and MP5's would be range, right? Last edited by Nathand; October 10th, 2006 at 12:35.. If you're in the US, get Classic Army.... their prices in the US are cheaper than the ones in HK, and you'll get lucky if you run into free shipping.

IMO, if youre in the US, and you want a very nice gun, get the ICS AK-74M, full metal too! If you want to stick with TM, get their AK-47. Both fine choices for a reliable and good looking AEG.

most quality AEGs are all on a level field. There are more then enough reviews and the "best AEG" thread*use the search) has more then enough info.
not to be mean, but it sounds to me like you should just read the reviews and make up your own mind. It sounds like you want someone to make up your mind for you. |

Droc - No offense taken. You're absolutely right, I should make up my own mind. I'm a 'noob at airsoft and respect the opinion of veteran players like yourself. That's why I started this thread, hoping not to blow my money on my first gun. Airsoft looks like a very worthwhile and enjoyable sport, and I just want to get started the right-way.

Take the plunge and buy a nice one like CA, TM, ICS, etc. If you end up disliking the sport, you can resell the gun on Airsoftforum, Arnies or Airsoftretreat and you'll get most of your money back. With cheapsoft, you'll lose a good chunk of it. |

That's good. I didn't know airsoft guns held their value so well. @Droc - I searched for the "best AEG" thread, but couldn't find it?

My first gun was a used upgraded G3SG1 firing 340FPS, a 1700mah 8.4 battery, and a hicap. Total cost: $420 + 20 minutes to get rid of the squeeking sound and barrel wobble. $30 for set of old DMPs, 50 for pball goggles, and 16 for a gun case. First day i managed to get about 5-6 kills. Not bad for a n00b. Doubt you can start with less.
