Sounds like reverse polarity when you charged the battery. Most batteries can be charged in reverse polarity. What happens is that they will start to vent gasses and electrolyte. At some point this will cease and you'll get a "top charge", but the polarity is reversed. When you put it in your gun, it will actually try to turn it in reverse, and you'll blow fuses if you hold down the trigger.

Invest in a proper charger and this won't happen again. Battery venting is a safety measure to prevent the cells from exploding, but excessive venting usually means the battery is toast.

Reverse polarity charging at 500mah may not have started the battery to vent until some time had passed. At a larger charge current like 3 amps, it would have started within a minute.

I was about to suggest that

OC - does the black wire on the charger go to the black wire on the battery and the red to red?

Crap. I was hoping it was going to be a quality issue of the fuses. The guy at the place where I bought the battery charged it for me. Assuming that he did charge it with reverse polarity (he also charged it in like 30-45mins, also, instead of using a tamiya connector to charge it, he used the wires sticking out from his charge, so he MAY have misaligned the wires), is it still OK for me to charge it at home? Or can I kiss my ass goodbye once I plug the battery into the charger? I can't die, I still haven't played on a field yet. I guess what I'm asking is, will the polarity return to normal once I plug it into the charger with a tamiya adapter.
