Using the same radio for some time now. Decent radio for a good price. Battery also seems to last forever. I've used it for 5-6 games (6-8 hours at a time) before the battery died. I don't like only one thing about this unit. It does not support sub channels.

Identity. Radio, charger and 2 mic pieces came up to somewhere around 150 CAD IIRC. Contact firemachine69, he'll hook you up.

Keep in mind that there's a difference between communicating effectively and filling the air with jibber jabber. Your team has to establish standard comms procedures and terminology.

Got a mortarolla talkabout GMRS radio on ebay used. Some of the stuff is faded a very little and it works great. Got 2 for like 60-70 bucks on ebay, great deal. I'd sudjest it.

I use a Motorola Cobra talkabout T5420, amazing radio, not that pricey, my dad bought them on sale for us kids when we go out quadding and such, but they dont get used alot till now they are mine for airsoft

I also have a motorla headset that fits perfect right under my mask, so I can talk and listen to commands and such without giving up my position when someone accidently hits that call button. All this can be bought at any Source store(aka Radio Shack).

Motorolla SX700s, probably the best buy out there right now (as far as GMRS radios go), two 19km GMRS radios, easy to read displays and two SEPERATE charging bases. Only problems I have with them is the flashing blue LED indicator light, and for some strange reason no matter how many different headsets I try, none work.

One problem I have is that people don't know how to FRIGGING turn off their ANNOYING BLEEPS on their own radios. I hate it when you're in cover, hiding and trying to avoid enemies when your teammates are constantly hitting the 'call' button on their radios. Nothing worse than when you need to call your teammates when your frigging line is clogged with stupid bleeps, toots and sirens.

And the solution for all this? Tin cans and some string. So leet.

They do support sub channel. I just don't know how to access them quickly without having to program them. This radio have it all, it's just badly explained in the manual.

Would you PLEASE stop worrying? Breathe? Relax?
At a game you need your gun, the stuff that makes the gun work, appropriate clothing, maybe some food/water, and that's it.
At your NEXT game after that, you'll know all that stuff.
There's already information on what to take to a game, you dont need a Poll to read.

BTW, I use a cheapo $30 radio. I found out if you buy cheap, you miss out on functions like GMRS

Greylocks he says right there, he wants to be prepared for when he goes to his first game. Obviously he doesn't wanna look like some lame n00b. I don't blame him either, who wants to stand out like a sore thumb or be at a disadvantage, particularly if your first game is a milsim where blending in and communicating with others is important.


As for radios, buy your self a decent gmrs radio with a decent wattage and an earphone/mic port(s). If you get one that comes with a custom battery pack make sure you get 2 or 3 packs so you're not down when your battery dies.
