By the way will this GBB be full metal slide and inner barrel or the whole GBBS being full metal? Ive searched on the net and only came up with GBBs that have the metal slide and barrel. How will the trades be like on this GBB?

Oh. The frame of the *real* USP is polymer, so don't expect a metal frame (that wouldn't make much sense, would it?) Same sort of thing as a Glock or P99. So, it's as full-metal as the real gun =)
Trades, since it's KWA? I would expect them to be flawed at best, possibly non-existant. Does anyone here own a KWA USP Compact? That would likely have the same trademark issues as this one. Also, anyone looking for reviews could probably look up reviews for the KSC/KWA USP Compact and find something similar. That's a guess on my part, though. |

Interested for sure, maybe even two of em - though depending on the quality of the metal outer barrel & slide (im guessing it will be both, not just the slide), i wouldnt want something that can crack easily or wiggle around due to poor fitting...

Yeah, we're talking about metal slide and barrel, abs/plastic/polymer/whatever they use frame.
Quality of fit is what you would expect from KSC/KWA, I would assume. If you've handled a KWA G19 or USP Compact (both of which come in factory full-metal configurations) you ought to have some idea. |

KWA is the Taiwanese manufacturing branch of KSC. The guns are identical in design and the companies are directly affiliated; the name is different only because of some legal mumbo jumbo.
There are two threads further down in the Airsoft Guns Discussion page that deal with this. General concensus is that the difference is mainly in trademarks. Some people believe (myself included) that there may be QC differences. The tradeoff is dramatically reduced price - this is $80 less for a FMU pistol than the plastic KSC. Having owned a KWA G19 before, I was very happy with it. Only traded it because I got an excellent offer on a W/A gun. |

Just to keep people up to date, this may or may not be happening depending on whether Randy can find another supplier (UK-based) with whom he can split the manufacturing run. Currently waiting to hear from the manufacturer.

I have to point out the fact that...
ALL (1 exception) of the people under 60 posts posted that they would be interested without posting any questions or helpful information. Which easily could have been shown in the vote. All the one with posts more than 60 (with one exception) posted questions or usefull information as well as the answer to the question. Now, who ever said that posts means nothing? But really, that is off topic. I'm actually very interested pending the availability of cash and other issues. Though I would really recommend that you brought in a few mags with these as well, hopefully to cash in on a deal and help out those guys like me that hate reloading GBB mags on the run. If these were to come in, what would the ETA be on them? Would the deal be for pre-orders only? Trades or not, great deal. Availability of mags is sugar on the cake though. |

Oh yeah, forgive my stupidity but what is (if any the difference) between a full size USP and a P8?
|
|
March 3rd, 2006, 07:52 | #30 |
Basically the P8 is a USP 9. It was made by request by the German government and is the standard issue pistol of almost all of the German armed forces. The only real difference besides the trademarks is that the safety selector is upside down compared to all other USP's.
