Garrison boots!

Lemme amend that I was told you could get charged, my guess is you can get jacked up, and if you hurt yourself you can get charged because it'll be a self inflicted injury. My buddy/officer/Course O/2 i/c of my battery told me that, and he's pretty in-the-know, so I tend to give what he says some credit.

Hmm thats interesting. I remember when i was in army cadets they used to dive into the bushes off of the path as a drill, and they stoped doing it because so poor kid got impaled. Self inflicted? you tell me, but yeah if you are aware and feel the gortex freezing i can understand that argument. You gotta love that everything has a loophole.

The newer Wet Weather Boots have better soles, so they won't freeze up like the old ones. A lot of that stuff about "if you do that, your get charged" is a lot of the time BS/Rumor. Like the thing about if you shave your own head(with clippers, not a razor) your be charged, is made up. There's been quite a few people who have slipped on ice, etc an never been charged. What do they expect you to wear in the winter? MKIIIs...

mouse, so army cadets used to walk on a path, an for no reason dive in? Thats dumb. But no, if you dive into a bush an impale yourself(on what? do metal spikes grow in the forest where you live) you won't get charged, since it would be an accident, an plus your probably be dead.

Yeah some stupid drill we did to get off of the path. They changed it after the kid got impaled to just splitting up on either side in the ditch or what not at the side of the path. Nah the kid wasnt dead but he did impale his chest on a branch.

Wondering, were you cadets pretending to patrol, than an imaginary enemy platoon is coming at you so you dive to cover on the side of the road/path?

Cadet's aren't supposed to do that BS paramilitary wannabe patrol/play war stuff. I don't really care, but you aren't supposed to do it, an seeing as how cadets are getting hurt for stupid reasons maybe your unit should stop..

Yeah, that's a good point... Gotta love the rumors/bs that goes on... But anyway, I wear my MKIIIs in the winter.... *shrugs*

As Far as i'm concern, my advice is to get the boots that fit your feets ! You will be happyer to feel comfortable for a long day of playing in the mud, running around, etc. Than just having beatiful boots that hurt's like hell ! :twisted:

I had a experience like that on day, i jut pick the wrong boots for me ! after a day i was so.....in pain ! Comfort my freind comfort !

Scrw garrison boots, and forget CF Combat Boots. They are ALL ass. For shits and giggles, I bought the latest, greatest goretex lined CF boot. What a shite pair. They have a new design, lace to toe, not a bad tread, but the leather is still CRAP! Knuckle under, and buy a GOOD pair of boots. Danner and Lowa come to mind. They are expensive, but very comfy and last a very long time. My first pair of Danners I bought way back when at Gagnam for Inf Phase II and III. Lasted 14 years. The CF "Wet Weather" Danner knock offs I bnought two years ago are almost ready for the bin.

Remember, you have to live with your feet a long time. TREAT THEM WELL. Pay top dollar for good boots and shoes, and your feet will thank you. Screw "GI" jungle boots, CF combat bnoots, garrison boots, Magnum and Hi-Tec boots. They are cheap for a reason.
