Yeah we're still issued workdress. But the only time I ever wear it is when we go on weekends onboard a ship or when it's the dress of the day. The rest of the time I'm either in ceremonial rig or combats.
Most of the senior rates (and my Guard) have OD combats. Some officers have OD and some have CADPAT.

I guess it'll boil down to what I can get my hands on when I go to Dave's.

Define "On Base". If your own a CFB, there will be an RSM for the base if i'm not mistaken, just like there is one for ASU toronto, who is known to rip cadets very large assholes for wearing issued CADPAT on DND property, unless they are a member of the reserve.

There is no need for cadets to be wearing digital, so just stick with ODs, so that you know, your unit has some uniformity.

Seriously, if you want real 3rd gen CADPAT go for it, can't be charged and since your CO is okay with it life is easy. Although ask yourself:
Do you need REAL CADPAT (for Ca-idiots..cadets*)?
What can real CADPAT do, that fake CADPAT can't do for YOUR use?
Do cadets need real CADPAT?
and most of all, what makes you think you deserve to wear real CADPAT?
You want new stuff, it'd be EASY to get minty mint fresh fake CADPAT rather then CF issue 3rd gen.
Your special, you have DPM be happy.

There is no reason to rip on cadets guy. I was a Cadet for 5 years and got alot out of it. If its not your thing thats fine but there is no call for calling them idiots even in your witty way. I would personaly go with the OD kit for excersises and what not, its cheap and the webbing and stuff is bomb proof. If you want to get Cad to show off i wouldnt some one will tear you a new one im sure even if you CO is going to look the other way there are others on the base that might not...

Seeing as Cadets are allowed to wear CADPAT, I don't think I've any worries about a new hole 8-O as for the OD...it's becoming more and more appealing if I get the jump smock. My concern for it though would be the quarpel hat.

Like I've posted in the Wanted section

Black Hawk, CADPAT is a controlled item, Cadets follow the same rules regarding it as civilians(since cadets are civilians).

Also, why do you need a jump smock? It is no longer authorized for wear. It was only worn by the Airborne Regiment, etc

Just going for the LCF?

Stick with OD, thats all cadets need. Sh*t, even the Navy doesn't get CADPAT(unless Naval pers are posted to a army unit).

Since there have been rules and guidelines created for the wearing of CADPAT by Cadets...I would guess that we're allowed to wear it.

Copy an pasted from another forum

I have been working with cadets since 1988 and was in myself (started in 83)

Here are the rules (the basic jist, no big words)

1. Cadets are NOT
allowed to wear official CADPAT combat clothing. Doing so will get the MP's involved and siezure of said clothes, weather you bought them or not. They are not for sale.....period
. Too bad if you think otherwise.

2. MARPAT and other lookalikes are allowed, by CO's descretion.

3. Wearing headress is allowed whilst in MARPAT and lookalikes.

4. When wearing MARPAT and lookalikes the only slip on AUTHORISED for cadets to wear is black with gold embroidery and the title CADET embroidered at the bottom. If your CO allows anything else he/she is in violation of CATOS and DCDS Cadet regulations.

5. The purpose of having MARPAT and lookalikes availiable to cadets is for use in the field only. This stops cadets from using their civies in the field and getting them ruined.

They are still making slight changes to the CADETPAT field clothing, and as far as I have seen, it is only available to army cadets (but i'm sure if other cadets wanted to pay the money for something they wouldn't use as much as an army cadet, go for it)

That was a topic of discussion when that picture was released. Not to mention that CADPAT and CadetPAT don't go together nicely.
