After doing some research I have found out two key things. THe FILBE is designed to be worn OVER a FLAK. If you wear it slick you will loose circulation in your arms. The ILBE which is apparently far more comfortable to wear slick...only comes in MARPAT.

So those bags are out the window.

Otherwise you would be pulling the weight and distributing it somewhere else. Furthermore, those frames do not just keep the back straight. Many are made just as strong as old steel frames. They also allow the pack to flex and relax as youre moving about. It also provides stability to the entire pack. Might I also add that the hip belt on the pack also makes a huge difference. Softer, more flexible (from just fabric to for reinforced) help from either keeping the pack straight (fabric) or transferrimg a minor amount of weight to your hips (foam). There are plastic, poly, foam and poly reinforcedrced ones too that help even more.

With that being said, look at osprey packs. I have an aether 70 amd have had and used it for 5, going on 6 years this summer. Mines in red but whatever, im sure they make a tan one.

Failing that, eberlestock. Or mysteryranch.
But trust me, fighting in a ruck sucks. Ive done it and hate it. For a daytonagun, find a better olace for your tank than in a ruck. So you can drop your ruck at a spawn or ditch it in a fight.

My last piece of advise is dont buy online. Find a place where you can go to try the packs. What looks good in theory may not work foy your bodys frame size, physical size and even shape and gender.
The osprey packs are all eye blindingly civilian coloured (bright greens, blues and reds). Not a single tan or even an OD in their line up.

Mysteryranch...the first pack that even HAS a hip belt is 540 dollars...and its flimsy fabric.

Packs are easy enough to dye if you dont like the colour. But, with that being said, osprey does make neutral color packs. I see them when i head to campers village or atmosphere. Just look around. They may not have last years designs or colors online. Every year pack companies change their colors...its annoying, really.

And, if im not mistaken, osprey makes military packs. I think for the brits, but im not 100% sure

I've been doing a lot of research lately regarding packs.

The most subdued pack that osprey makes is probably their Atmos AG in Graphite; it actually appears a bit green when you see it in person. All the other greens are way to bright. There are a few older models around in beige, but nothing explicitly military-styled. As far as I can tell Osprey does not make any military packs. After trying a few of their packs on in person, I wish they did, because out of all the packs I've tried on their's have arguably been the most comfortable.

Fair enough. Ive done a ton too, back when I was in the hunt for a ruck. My understanding was that they produced some milspec bags that were styled similar to the civi rucks. Something to do with low profile signatures or something. But, with that being said, that was years ago. Im sure that may have changed recently. I mean, I keep up to date with tech and the like but thats about it, I dont do too much digging anymore. But I agree, netween all tje packs I tried, i loved every osprey as well.

OP, i think that perhaps youre really overthinking this pack situation. Many brands make packs and for airsoft (as great as it can be) you dont need a military ruck. If you find one you like (such as an eberlestock), you will be paying a premium for having it in tan, as you will most likely have to order it in. I strongly suggest you look at civilian companies and see what can be comprimised...im sure a dark green or grey pack will be fine with your team...or just use krylon for that super secret squirrel operator look. after all, its not all milsim all the time....and rarely will you always have it on you anyway. To lrove my point, i use my red osprey for 24+ hour games...20$ at fabric land and some time can net you a home made cover

If you go this route, I still strongly suggest Osprey. Greggory is pretty good too, and theres always arkteryks...though they are mega pricy, but an excelent product. Even MEC carries their own bramd that is pretty decent quality. But remember, you will get what you pay for, spend extra on a pack that wont break, and youll be happy...i know this first hand...got stuck carrying 30 extra pounds on top of my already 50 pound pack along a volcanic ridge in guatemala after a friend i was traveling with had her bag break on her.

If you have friends that have rucks youre interested in, ask to use one for a day. Fill ot up with all your shit and go for a hike along the parks you have amd see how it feels.
