I was thinking of getting some Goretex Boots but got ones that breathe better and dry quicker. Is this a good option? I might get some Goretex socks instead of relying on a boot to save my feet.

I own like 3 or more pairs of combat boots. There's nothing like putting on dry socks and boots after a few hours of playing. Totally rejuvenating.

The only things I carry with me besides my shooting gear is a flashlight, small medkit and 1-2 extra batteries. Sucks to be in a good position and have to go back to spawn point to get one...

That's a really important point for outside of airsoft as well. For example, some people keep really heavy duty first aid kits in their car, even though they don't have the training to use them. If you see an accident, your kit can be used by a police officer who may not have that equipment in his own car, until the EMTs arrive. Or if you get into an accident yourself, a nurse traveling home may see your accident and be able to assist you with it...And so on.

Anyway, if it's a skrim, there's not a whole lot that you need in your pocket. A compass and map can be a huge help. Not just in the case of you getting lost yourself, but so that you can relay and communicate things to other people.
Even if you know the field, you can still point places out on a map to others. And if you don't know the field that well, you can use the compass to determine which direction you're facing. Eg you can radio to your buddies that there's enemies coming in from the west, or that you're heading over to the bunker on the east side, etc.

Other than that, a knife/multi tool is all you really need, since everything else is a few minutes away at the safe zone. The game types probably won't be complicated enough to require a notepad, the team structure probably won't require radios, etc.

However, a (good) radio is really good to have if you're playing in a forest, or anywhere that you have the potential to either wander off and get lost, or to hide somewhere. If you get lost outside the boundaries, or you get hurt where someone won't stumble upon you, a radio will be really helpful.

For milsim...There's a whole whack of stuff to add for milsim.

goretex socks - amazing at keeping your feet dry, they eventually get soaked with sweat anyway but at least it's not swamp water.

goretex boots - might as well tie plastic bags over your current boots for all the good they do

Jungle boots and goretex socks are the best and most effective way to go through water and keep your feet dry. You want a boot that actively drains any water in it, and the watertight layer close to your skin.
There is a HUGE difference between having wet boots that drain, and wet boots that retain water.

aside from game gear i usually have a pen or two (signing waivers), small notebook, map of the field, multitool, spare battery, flashlight, and electrical tape to use for repairs or folded on itself for light rope. Always carry my phone with me as well in a hard case for that extra warm and fuzzy feeling if i things go super south and i need the gps / compass / 911. I will be picking up a safety whistle to toss in there too in case of a no duff situation if i bust my leg and can't reach anyone on radio.

The whistle is a great idea. I've been to a few fields where even the 5watt radio's didn't work well.
Claybank being the obvious one, several dark spots on the field where you need to relay comms, but you can hear a whistle anywhere.
