The OP is about out of the box performance.
External opinions are the only time I hear LCTs praised. Personally I dont like heavier guns - which is why the LCT doesn't appeal to me if we want to talk about externals. No disrespect to anyone, but I want to know why LCT is always one of the first brands thrown out there over CYMA to new people who really just want something decent out of the box and bang for their buck. |

Out of the box my LCT74 MN performed fantastic, then I took it appart and shit went down hill.
That asside, I spent a good amount of money making it "tactical" by adding a Hephestus rail, which is a beast, and quite heavy, and a tactical selector arm. LCT are heavy, and nice looking, but CYMA are significantly less expensive. You're probably gonna end up upgrading internals EVENTUALLY, so I would recomend the CYMA if you're not interested in very nice extenrnals.

If you want a solid out-of-box high-performance AK that needs nothing done to it for awhile go with either an LCT or VFC AK74. Bar none the best you can go with. DBoys and CYMAs are the cheap alternative (DBoys tend to have nice externals than CYMA though in my experience). These will work, but need some fine tuning to get things up to snuff.

Quote:
CYMA = Romanian cheap shoots, uses crappy metals. Dboys = Bulgarian Cheap Very good clone of Russian rifles LCT= East German Very nice rifles, reliable accurate, different construction. VFC= Russian Premium quality VFC is the only company that saw a need to redo the mould when building AK-74M, other companies just use AK-74 parts. |

Tactical Value, maybe
Lancer AK Railed 74 SU ( Poly body and rails, good mechbox) Bought it as a project gun for $114 to see what I could make it do for fun: -Way too much oil on the piston, spreading into the barrel assembley after firing, definitely requires a take down and re lube with grease. Too much grease on the gears -Internals, really good. Integrated sector delay, good quality second tooth removed piston ( softer TM type) with adequate angle of engagement, ported piston head with good seal with the cylinder and bearing guides on the piston head and spring guide. Bearing bushings and nice gear assembley that was well shimmed and solidly in place with nice ratio, not too slow. Tappet plate was strong and wiring was good quality. Hop up assembley is clear but the bucking is good, brass barrel, hop up nub needs to be replaced for consistency. When I opened the mechbox everything stayed in place and looked solid. The motor is like a cyma, not NEO. The only items I changed were the feed nozzle ( no o ring clear plastic), hop up nub, motor (Infinite torque up I had lying around) and the spring. Body and front barrel assembly is all poly materials but on such a short barrelled gun the vibration is minimal for the cost. It is light and looks cool but if you are a metal fanatic this is not a gun for you. I believe you can make it perform very well and I will test it out soon. It is not bad value for the dollar just for the mechbox alone.

I can direct any aved member to lct dealers...ics ak-74ms are ok but have a lot of inaccuracies and the front has a tendency to wobble otherwise ok.

As if that is relevant, real swords are best AK's for your buck, considering they hold there value. If you can sell a gun practically for what you bought it for, after you have used it then it was worth it.
