canadian airsoft has had those vests for at least a couple of years now in every color made. they are trying to get those utg mp5's to try them out, but they are sold out for months at leapers in the u.s. (the americans are buying up like crazy i guess). and don't kid yourself about cheap aeg's. many more get bought up by first-timers just for shits and giggles than tm or others. sure they're crap and they break all the time and they are no good for playing an actual serious game, but for $149 can. who give's a shit if it breaks. i wouldn't buy one myself, but i see the appeal for someone to give the whole airsoft thing a try or just to plink in the basement. airsoft is like crack cocaine. it doesn't take much to get you hooked and when you're hooked that's it.

Here's to crack..err airsoft addiction!
But in all seriousness, I can see the appeal to a cheap gun such as this being a n00b myself. Then again, I have personal standards for products I buy. |

I wouldn't accept one of those balsa wood strength pieces of crap if it was offered up to me as a gift. You want something half decent? Spend. You don't have money? Take up badminton. Why waste your money on that garbage ...

You might want to check with the kid who goes by the nickname 'Falcon' or something like that from Saskatoon, Sask. He was trying to convince me to start importing UTG and he wouldn't get it through his head that no self-respecting Japanese person OR retailer would carry that shit.
Why bring in CRAP from China and make yourself look bad when you can just sell products made by your own country?

UTG has proven themselves to be reliable through their shotguns. I've heard nothing but rave reviews about them from ASF www.airsoftforum.com the only problem is the hop up needs adjusting a little. I apperciate everyone's concern...mainly because you are all loyal to just a few companies and aren't willing experiment with differnt companies. I used to be like that too when I skateboarded. I learned that a crappy Canadian Tire board is better then a Shortys board. Same theory could be applied to airsoft but I haven't had to chance to try out the UTG MP5 so I don't know if a lot of US players are lying or that you guys are right.

Actually, the UTG MP5 seems to be relatively decent according to the reviews that I've read at Arnie's forum. There's a full take-down review of the internals and everything plus recommended parts that should be replaced to bring it up to TM standard of quality. That list is actually quite small. The next AEG on UTG's release list apparently is the AK. It'd be nice if somebody local got their hands on one to review...
