well yes it CAN run stock no problem, as most can.

but it is the opinion of some that the TM internals in the p226 can be damage after extended use on propane because they weren't designed for that amount of pressure. most people assume the slide is the only thing that needs to be strong enough for the propane. this is told to me by a very reputable source who is always fixing guns and takes them apart often (the main guy who does repairs/upgrades in BC).

I've used it on propane but I think it's just smarter to do some upgrades instead of taking the risk when there are no parts available. my friends p226 died within the first week (blew an inner seal) and there is no where to order the parts as of now. I understand his could have been and probably was a lemon but now he has a 300$+ paperweight. there are no upgrade parts and stock parts are hard to come by, so until they are more easily acquired I will just use it once and a while.

of course there's upgrade parts available... although i just sold out on all of them, there are piston heads, recoil springs, hammer springs, floating valves, high flow valves...

Replacement parts are definitely hard to find now.

Yeah, hopefully the package i received yesterday was just that... my 226 upgrades... all my baby needs now is metal.... all metal.... mouahhahahaha

btw, Stock 226 takes Greengas/propane np.

Thanks guys, I'm probably going to get the P226. If anyone else has more information on this gun it would be nice. But I'm about 80% sure I'm getting the P226 now.
