I meant the magazine in the gun. With a cloth holster the mag release can be depressed merely by pressure on the holster/gun.

That is really good to know and can probably happen.

I don't have my holster on the right side where the bottom of the pistol is exposed can release the magazine should I press onto the holster/gun.

I have the holster on the left side of the rig and a triple stacker pouch is against the bottom of the pistol magazine. If the magazine does get released, the magazine still can not fall out because the M4 mag pouch is blocking it. I guess in rough play, it can still fall out.

Using a stiffer mag release spring on a pistol could be a good solution for cloth holster users to prevent magazine losses. I don't think cloth holsters are going away, so you could sell stiffer spring kits to pistol owners.

I am now going to put in a stiffer spring as an added prevention. Thanks for the heads up!

But the Condor one is quite good (I tried and decided that I was better with a clone Serpa... for about the same price).
I'm confused...

Exactly.

I ended buying a Condor "universal" for 1911 series exactly because of that, every other I tried allowed me to drop the magazine.

This one is tight on both sides of the mag catch, so it cannot press it in since there is no room for it to move.

The "wrap around" ones all had enough play to let the gun move a bit and drop the mag.

Also the gun was moving around when running... a hicapa is heavy enough to annoy...

To OP:

Don't forget that theses "universal" holsters have to be removed from MOLLE to be re-adjusted to a new pistol... you are not saving any time over installing a new one... especially if you use a BH! speed rig...
Best solution in your case would be to buy CHEAP holsters that fit each gun pefectly, and swap them.

I played a pistol only game yesterday and my friend had a similar issue to you... he runs a G23 and a Hicapa.. He has two belts with two holsters and two sets of mag pouches... and two dumps because they are cheap and it's faster/easier to swap belts..

I have a Condor MA69 VT on order but tried Army Issue first, but they only had the leg-drop version and I needed it quickly so another source had to be found.

I called Condor directly to confirm the amount of work to adjust the MA69 during a game.

They told me that all I have to do is unsnap the two Molle buttons but leave the Molle in so the holster can be tilt at an angle so that I can rewrap a new pistol shape. Then I just have to resnap the buttons back.

I can see Serpa being ideal for a leg mount, but on a chest rig, I prefer the nylon Condor.

I have been using a cheap ACM holster for over a year now with no issues other than a worn strap and threads coming a part so the Condor is going to be much better.

I'm not a fan of universal holsters but what about one made by Tactical Tailor? I have used their mag pouches and slings and they seem very well made.

I have been using the MA69 VT for several weeks now and I have to say it is great.

The one you linked homer76, the Tactical Tailor is a "universal" like the Condor H-1911, it is a fixed cavity to hold a pistol with a tactical light. But if you use a pistol without a light, it will move around.

The MA69 VT is completely different. It is an "adjustable" not a "universal". If you change pistols during a game, you do not have to remove the holster off the molle at all. You just need to unwrap the panels and rewrap it tightly around whatever pistol you want to use. It also has a barrel strap inside so that barrel is also supported. All, in all this holster is great for people that want an adjustable holster over a serpa.

The best part about it, it only cost $20
