"How awesome would it be if ACA games were broadcasted on ESPN? "
Enough said.
Whatever floats their boat but yes I'm a Muslim (read: milsim) elitist and there would be little appetite for that here.
Why even have cammies and kit? Why not just wear jerseys and have a high cap.
Also the class system is brutally reminiscent of a video game. I'll be sure to tell the next Inf officer that I see that he can't be an assaulter because he's a Captain class.

Anyway, there are people that do milsim and there are people that play paintball-eque games. As the former, I'm unimpressed with the latter.

They didn't say if Origin was required to play or not.

Oh i agree that airsoft is more about realism but at the same time too it should be about having fun. if this sparks peoples intrests i dont think it should be frowned upon

frowned upon... no that would be impolite.. lets go with utterly ignored with palpable contempt.

As soon as it's competitive, someone starts talking about prizes.. now you will have the airsoft equivalent to "wiping" ... rampant hit shrugging.. and the resultant rage and frustration.. hard feelings... and fun dampener.

this is one of those things that sounds great.. and could be if human beings were not involved.

Ok to quote Brad on the idea its "straight homosexual country-music Special Olympic gay"

wall is an interesting concept, cept for the fact a nice high rof burst would take it down.

Ppl who wanna do that should just stick to cod and paintball.

^ probably one of the funniest and true things I have heard. either way not to sound like a dick but I personally would want to try it before I start saying its a bad idea. For me win or lose I think it would be fun I mean all it is is another type of game right not like you only get to play this for the rest of your life. people that cheat to win a trophy or whatever it is im sure people would recognize them as cheaters people who dont call there hits or wipe usually get caught and then they are frowned upon.

We play some pretty hard core competitive games at TTAC3 .. pretty much every week ..

but no one keeps score..

We have done games like "THE WALL" except we used balloons

This idea.. is not new... and has already been roundly rejected as "not within our field of interest" for the majority of players ..

A daygame now and again using some of these ideas would be fine.. but the hole "league" idea has fallen flat several times already

If I wanted to play speedball I'd play speed ball. I'm starting to shy away from regular senario game days. Put me in a squad sit me in a forest and give me a sector to scan I'll be happy for hours on end.

I'm too fat, broken, old and cowardly to be in the military but I do want to play the part some times. So I Milsim. If I want to play Battlefield 3 I'll play battlefield 3. Airsoft is getting away from 12 year olds being 1337 sn1purz and play a role with some friends.

Edit: So I personally would never want it to be a competitive sport. Man I'm starting to sound old!

I dislike the fact the everyone in this thread is compairing it to BF3 though airsoft is nothing like a video game. Just because they use classes does not imply that they are going that route its just away for them to direct people to certain duties on the field. I am new to airsoft so brian thanks for letting me know about mislims and stuff I didnt know about them till now. I'm sorry if I'm seeming like an ass or something I mean no disrespect to anyone.

The comparison comes with our experience with both, I am sorry your perception of the game is so far from what it is. Come out to games and learn like we all did.

Yea if you want to get into real airsoft you may want to read up on the history of venues in an around london... and learn the difference between a skirm and milsim. Not all 'Milsims' are actual MILSIMs.

This is milsim.

Please don't get it confused with Speedball with Pellets.

KTHXBAI!

thanks guy any other info you wanna send me would be great I do understand a lot about airsoft as my sisters boyfriend is sponsered by adreniline paintball for airsoft and I have been out and playing. I just havent meet people who have told me about events and such and what Milsims are but I appreciate you guys giving me the info so thank you. I just want to say that I would rather be out playing airsoft rather then being inside and playing video games when it comes down to that BF3 comment.

Playing Bf3 is called chairsofting.... hahaaha

no but seriously. We don't hate Bf3 as much as CoD. Well New CoD older WW2 CoD was alright I guess. But What we mean is like how a match of BF3 is comparable to what you normally see at skirms. I.E. almost always in contact etc. where as Milsims are like Playing games like Arma or Operation Flashpoint in sense. And then there are the Super elite milsims that some guys run which are like 24 (+) hour events which are as much about survival and patrolling as they are about shooting.
