With pistols, I love the mobility factor, even carrying two pistols with mags, it still allows me to use speed and agility when moving fast around corners, sweaping rooms, whatnot...
I personally never dual wield, even for thrills sake, I like focusing on one set of sights at a time...not the mention the practicality of reloading two pistols in the field.....even with proper tactical reloads, unless your practicing it every day for 3 hours a day, then MAYBE it might work for you, but most people don't... I cannot emphasize any more as to how dynamic and thrilling using a pistol as a primary can be in CQB environments...for me it is my favored way of playing airsoft overall... Some of my best kills have been with a pistol, even at outdoor/long engagement distances type games.... All of my best EXPERIENCES in airsoft battle have involved the use of a pistol...... not to say i don't enjoy pulling out the M4 and heading out to an open field once in a while Last edited by Invasian; July 12th, 2012 at 10:57.. |

Not unless you spend the money on Military grade ITW Fast mags that you can easily do tactical reloads with...negates the use of the drop pouch ....
They have options that can be installed with either Molle or belt connections.. They are about $32.99 a pop ... Best solution I have ever used, been running them the last few games...i love them...extremely worth the money Quote:

Well I'm not a fan of dual wielding I mean yeah I guess it looks cool and maybe one day I'll try it for fun but yes it's not super tactically sound. I learned one style of Small Arms handling (Way before it became popular and used in video games, though it's cool that it's got some attention) in a Course that doesn't utilize dual weapons really so I'm gonna stick to that. Right now I'm stuck between getting a M4 or the FiveseveN. As for the 1911's yeah I love them too.. I wanted to get one that looks exactly like the Springfield Armoury Operators Edition with the rails on the bottom and the two tone with green but I've heard nothing but good things about the FiveseveN. By the sounds of everything though it seems that running a pistol isn't a bad idea! Maybe a true pistol revolution is on the horizon of things.

I guess I should ask others too.. What other pistol is good or that you love? Keep in mind Mag Cap (Higher like the FiveseveN is good) Parts (Availabilty and ease of installation), Price (Best bang for buck), Style (FiveseveN, 1911, M9, Glock etc.) and stats (FPS, Range, accuracy).

KWA and TM models will be your best bet. KWAs are pretty cheap in Canada right now and have the best customer service of any airsoft company, hands down. It's nice being able to call up someone in California and ask them to ship you some replacement parts if anything breaks.

I play mainly CQB and i first started with an AEG, G36C. And throughout the years I've gravitated towards pistols. There can be a lot of advantages and disadvantages to playing with a pistol only.
One of the biggest disadvantages is playing against a team with mainly AEGs. They can sling more plastic downrange than you can, and they can out-range you. But you can move faster than them, and clear corners faster than them. Playing with a pistol you're going to see less accuracy and consistency as the range increases. When you play outdoors it will be even more so, due to the environmental factors. Not to mention the fluctuations in gas pressure from the temperature changes. I don't recommend playing outdoors with a Pistol as a primary. If you're looking for a something small and maneuverable I'd recommend going for a short AEG or any PDW/SMG styled AEG. You'll get more range and consistency guaranteed. |

As for the dual wield... it works some of the time. I play CQB and often holster two pistols. Mag changes aren't so bad. You just have to re-holster one gun to free up your extra hand. And use a dump pouch and molded mag holsters for quick mag changes. And I only unholster the other gun when I need to cover two entrances.
I've tried dual M9s, M11s, Glocks, 1911s, 2011s, MP5ks. It's impractical, but fun as hell during those rare occasions when you've got both barrels pointing in one direction and firing alternating shots at someone. The best combination I use is a semi-auto in my dominant hand and a full-auto like an M11 or a G18c in my weak hand, on full auto. And the only time it really comes in handy is when you're faced with two possible points of entry you're trying to cover. When someone pops up at your weak hand you fire a burst to get their head down, get to a better position and point your dominant hand at the target. Otherwise, like everyone else mentioned above... I've found, I'm faster with one pistol, two hands and double-tapping a target. Just keep moving and you'll stay alive. Plus I need an extra hand to work the pistol light. :P |

As for best gun to use I'd recommend a TM 2011/Hi-Capa platform, or 1911.... depending on which feels nicer in your hands.
TM 2011/1911 right now has the most choices in terms of aftermarket support. Stock parts are just as easy to come by in the private sales, but replacement/upgrade parts are easy to find at the moment as well. And since there are so many companies manufacturing parts for this platform the prices are competitive. Plus mag capacity is easily increased with extended mags available with these guns as well. Not to mention all the extended barrel kits that have been made. It's probably your #1 choice for creating a good primary gun. Otherwise my second recommendation is a TM G18c for its select-fire ability. Also has large aftermarket support, not as much as the 2011/1911 platform, but it's there. But there are more things to go wrong and break on it since there are more moving parts because of its select-fire ability. Extended mags will increase your mag capacity, and the ability to fire on full-auto when you really need it. |

OK, I like those ITW pistol fastmags, but after Googling for a retailer in Canada, I'm not getting anything. Does anyone carry them in country?
