this is kinda weird.
I was under the impression that the glock 23 Metal and ABS versions were... well... technically identical.. They're both lifted straight from the Marui Glock 26 design internally, and the only difference between the two versions are the recoil spring (possibly the hammer spring) and the slide material... And from what I recall, KJW makes metal slides for their ABS guns separately. ie, the Para 14.45 ABS version could be upgraded by components, as KJ made the metal slide available as a separate purchase... |

Thats true mystery fish, but they also sell two versios of the gun, all ABS or Metal Slide Versions. All in all i think i will now save up and stick to a metal slide so i dont run into this damn problem ever again.
And now for some more bad news.. While taking a look at my gun to see what could have possibly cracked my slide i have noticed that when the hammer is not cocked and i pull the slide back by pushing the front of the slide, i get this gritty/almost stuck slide trying to get back into normal possition. The strange thing is, is that if i were to pull the slide back using the back grips of the slide this wouldnt happen at all :-? . My gun is now a total disaster in only one month. Maybe the operater is a disaster.. A moderater has moved my post here.. and there isnt even a solution yet. Maybe this thread can be moved one level up. |

OK. So i have found out why the slide would sometimes return gritty after several hours of examining the gun. The cause was that the hammer was down but a small catch lever didnt do it job so the hammer had all its tension on the slide causing it to stiffen.
Solution. Cock the slide back by gripping the rear of the slide. Hope that helps anybody but my gun is still..... a useless piece. |

Just got a reply from STTI, there is no set quantity for the KJ G23 metal slides, so I don't have to order a big box of them. I can order as many as needed. So whoever wants/needs one let me know. I'm still waiting to hear back about pricing, but it shouldn't be too much.

for the love of god, dont try to get a ksc glock slide on there, you'll be even more disappointed. the kjw glocks are based off the tm g26 as stated, but since theyre longer you're stuck with using kjw replacement slides, thank god for grim .

Grim you pretty much saved my gun. Cant wait to hear the prices, how much you think itll be? Anyways, im looking to be glueing my cracked slide back. Anyone knows the steps i should be taking? Im guessing clean it than just squirt some glue into the crack and grab a clamp to hold it sturdy. Update: Well i did it.. and supriseingly it works amasing. The glue makes it feel even stiffer than before and the glue is even shock resistant! Itll probably hold until i get a metal slide. Anyword from STTI Grim? Does the Slide come with sights? |

Im still haveing problems with the power of the gun, can this be hammer related at all?
K i think i have corrected why the power was so low. It seams that that the gun wasnt lubed up well. After lubing the gun it shoots as well as it was shooting before but my slide has reopened its crack yet again Anyword form STTI Grim? |

cyanoacrylate, that the only thing you have to use. crazy glue have some, use pure one. you will find this in hobby shop, they used this on plane.

Havn't gotten an email about pricing yet. I'm pretty sure the slides don't come with sights, you'll have to save the sights from your old slide.

OK, Sounds good. Is there a web site for STTI?
Update: ARGH! Yet ANOTHER Problem with this DAMNED gun :hammer: In the beginning when i was filling the gun, there was no leaking at all and no gas comeing back out of the fill valve when the gun was full of propane. Now. for some-odd-reason when i press the head of the propane adapter into the fill valve to fill the mag up theres gas spraying out everywhere during the whole time of the filling process! What the hell is up with this fill valve!? Im going to dissasemble the mag, maybe the mag is also the cause of the shitty power shots. Can anyone help me with what i should be checking? |

Ok so i took the mag apart and everything seams to fit properly and i can see no problems, i also re soaked all the o-rings in oil but it seems its leaking from around the little stem indicated in red here
Anyone got an extra fill valve theyre not using or knows how to fix this? |

You should slap whoever bought the gun in ABS version in the first place. The metal is invincible.
