I'm still trying to " tune " this gun. With the 3 round burst, you have to adjust the gun depending on what type of battery you are using. There is a small access hole inside where the trigger is. You get a small screwdriver in the package when you buy the gun.

I'm using a 9.6v 2000mah battery in a PEQ box, best I have been able to get is 4 round burst instead of 3......and every 4th shot in semi is a double tap.

Still at it .....

Fixed.....semi is now semi, with no double tap with proper 3 round burst.

I look forward to hearing your experiences after gaming with it, I'm interested enough to buy one for myself provided I have sufficient funds =P

The MX5 is my indoor gun. I'm planning on going to the newbie game on April 9th in Kitchener with my M4. Once I have that out of the way, I'll check out an indoor game. Unless a newbie indoor game comes up 1st.

What do you find flimsy? I've got a PEQ box and flashlight mounted to the front rails and I can shake the hell out of it with no movement. The battery moves around a bit in the PEQ, but that's about it.

The spacers that hold it int.. It's plastic and on a pin for a hinge then just a pin holding it close.. i didn't like the selector switch either i think for a gun that costs that much it shouldn't feel cheap.. you're paying for the adjustable fps.. Thats IMO though.. I need the front to be tough i know i would break it easily

Fair enough. The selector switch is a bit of an issue, but one that is small enough for me to overlook. There are some plastic parts that I do wish were metal, but overall I like the weight and feel of the gun.

-Looks pretty sweet.
-Steel upper receiver similar to the CA B&T model.
-Can fully unload a tensioned spring with there patented release system.
Negatives:
-Micro switch...I see this going down the same road as the Ares micro switches went and if that's true expect to use low "C" values on lipo batteries as it won't handle high loads.
-It's ICS (not knocking them as a company, as I do like a lot of there products, but this may lead to problems finding aftermarket parts for it if upgrading is you're thing.)
-There is no real steel counterpart to this gun.
-ICS's terrible selector switch.
-ICS's crap-tacular air seal issues on compression components (hit and miss)
CA B&T is aluminum made... while the ICS MX5 is real steel made, I cant even get my hands on those receivers myself.

Sorry I should of clarified, not steel, but "steel" as the airsoft world calls it is actually cast aluminum or "pot metal", and I doubt the MX5 is actually steel...highly doubt. Also I would be willing to bet that those ICS receivers for the MX5 are proprietary to the ICS split mechbox, so why would you want to get one anyways?

the upper receiver is same as the SRC (one whole piece) plus if your doubtful you can just look it up from their website.... http://www.icsbb.com/web_e/html/06_n...w.aspx?num=102

I've had my hands on those guns.... the best ones I've ever seen and the SRC mp5's too. For sure they're more solid than the normal ICS mp5's

Gotcha, I wasn't disputing the fact that there one piece, that I actually do not know for sure. I was doubtful of it being made out of actual steel though.

Sorry for bumping this, but have a question to ask.

Is the weird rubber thing on the MX5 Pro's pistol grip removable? For that matter, can I swap the rearsight/front rail/stock for regular ones to make it look exactly like the real steel version?
