What gave it away? The side mounted buttons? Specically the one that says NV on it?

Just the buttons on the side gave it away.

I've been eyeing that bad boy for a long time...

What's she going for? 700? I'm definitely down for one on the RS... Don't think I'd drop that on airsoft.

Ive seen them as low as $500 USD . As much as $1000USD with the 4x magnifier and FXD mount setup.

There are advantages to the FXD and FTS mounts, I do agree with you that having and FTS mount would be handy, but the look of the single solid unit with the FXD style mount looks prety sexy!
For airsoft, theres no real advantage that I can think of. However I will go over some cool specs about it.
Its designed specifically for armalites, with the front portion removed so it can fit over m4/m16 style handguards.
Designed to work with NV devices.
Easy access side buttons

When applied to real steel (copy from website)

Eotech 557.AR223 is configured with a new ballistic matching reticle image for the M4 carbine. The battle tested circle/dot reticle will be offered along with a series of 1 MOA aiming dots that are vertically aligned and calibrated specifically for the ballistic drop of .223 caliber ammunition. The reticle provides 4 aiming dots for target distances of 0-300m, 400m, 500m, and 600m.
And finally, its an option out there for those of us who dont like the look of ACOGs

The 557 is by far the nicest looking EOTech. Also, in a COMWEC situation, you'd always have batteries.. No CR123s to scrounge.

Awesome unit. Damnit. Part time jobs suck.

Weird, my mate just bought a clone 552 that has that setup for the reticle

Ignore me I just found out that loads of 552 clones have this

The 2 items I'd personally kill for just now are a replica B&S short dot scope & a Surefire suppressor for my L119A1 10".

Also to flog a dead horse any news on the Peltor clones yet

i cant find the picture anywhere but its this holster that is used on revolvers that clip around the trigger assembily instread of having to put it IN the holsert it clips in, i was thinking it would be awsome if he made one for a gbb pistol so you could put a silencer on your gbb and not have to worry about snapping it off pulling it out of the holster and you could pull it and aim it much faster.
